The main ones in this "atlanta" area are Lanier, Allatoona, and out towards covington area there is Oconnee and Jackson just south of that one. The Pirates of Lanier Poker run is coming up this year. You can make a visit for the run and get a good feel of the area.

Thanks everyone for the replys It looks to be we will be moving down by the end of August. Anyone have any ideas on what city's or towns allow you to keep your boat on trailer on the property at your residence? We have to rent a house for the first yr some of the realtors are telling me you can't have a boat on property

Thanks
Doug

The HOAs are usually the ones with rules about keeping boats and RVs on property. I keep my Liberator in my driveway or next to my house. Used to keep the ex wives RV at my house too. I live in Oxford but not in town.
Edit To Add Your other thread asked about Buford realtors. I don't know any around that area. I will tell ya while Buford has some nice areas it is a long drive from there to Covington. I live just 10 miles from downtown Covington and it takes over an hour from my house to Lake Lanier on a Saturday or Sunday with minimal traffic.

Loganville or Grayson would be about half way and you wouldn't have too much for traffic getting to work in Covington. Good luck with the move.

Maybe you can use "RV parking" as a filter on your searches. There are a lot of houses in subdivisions here but there are some with no covenants where you can do what you want. This is prime time for sales and it is very hard to find houses because they are selling as fast as they get listed. Best of luck to you.

It has been a brutal time consuming search for us to find a house that would work for all our needs including the boats. We closed on our sale last week and now we are doing more paper work on our purchase. This property will give us all the room we need for the boats, four wheelers, garden, shop and other interests. It kind of sucks because we have not had a vacation or a summer or a break of any kind this year but we have made great strides in getting relocated ourselves even though it is local. I wanted to drive my 357 in the poker run on Lanier this year but just could not get the time for all that includes.
There is no way I could do an HOA or limiting covenants.

Maybe we can get some boating this fall after our move.
Keep us posted on your move.
