On that note I have the absolute bare essentials a Honda 2000 and a 8000 btu window shaker with 6 five gallon gas cans for emergencies these days . Cool air is all I need along with my Dometic freezer cooler.

I had a 24’ Sonic and a 17’ Hydrostream in my backyard for that storm.
Neither insured and the Ex who just left me, took the tow vehicle w/her!
I thought both boats would be destroyed in the storm, in front of my eyes!
My Cracker Ass buddies down there hooked me up.
They said, take the covers off, let the air out of the trailer tires, put their plugs in and fill the hulls w/water
and tie them to anything.
I did all of the above.
I remember the wind came from the front of my house, my Sonic to the side and just outside my lanai in the rear.
I was able to sit in my lanai, smoke a seagar, drink a beer and watch the storm blow over the Sonic, (no wind where I was) wind/rain would hit the bow, follow it back to the windshield and turn to a vapor trail off the top of the windshield like an airplane wing in the rain.
Next morning I checked both boats and had zero damage to either!
A week later I drove to Punta Gorda and bought a $1500 e-bay Burb so I could tow the boats!
Priorities!

I think I read that Berts Bar in Matlacha was taken out when the last big storm hit there and took out its bridge to Pine Island.
Loved that place!
They had a coin operated, hand cranked crane game that picked up lobsters instead of toys!
I you got one they would cook it for you.
Watched a guy get three of them one night!
