I have no argument about the water quality it’s not good and will not change , just like everything else in Florida. Glad I got to enjoy it when it was good , kinda like the 80s.

It is what it is , kinda like anything if you’ve been around for 60 years .

Im spending the next 3-4 months out in Moore Haven in the middle of a cow pasture that has a boat yard on the riverbank. Last affordable do it yourself boat yard left around here anymore since the hurricane.

Repairing and prepping the boat to move onto after we sell the condo in Naples . Hopefully the Keys for Christmas and a week or 2 in the Tortugas to get a few last dives in and than I will get back on what I think of the water quality being it’s been 5 years since I’ve dove them.

I’ve seen what the previous 35 years have done and don’t expect that it has gotten any better.

Didn’t the Kissimmee river get restored to the original river bed? Not that that helps ft Myers much. Restoring the upper glades back to sheet flow would be monumental politically and financially. The farm subsidies on sugar should be attacked from a health standpoint. We’ve never had subsidies on fruits/vegs and their still over produced.

Indiantown? That is by lake Okeechobee? The only thing there is a power plant, where are you talking about?

Would be interesting to hear from those new property owners.

I used to test their frequently, and although there was nothing there (then) and 95% of the population were migrant workers, I loved it.

They had a gorgeous ramp and park.

Used to pass a deli/carry out a few miles out that had a sign I loved.

”Food, beer, gas, and free financial advice”!!

Always loved the Fla Crackers.

Indiantown has a cool grass airstrip but nothing else that I’m aware of.

Hah!

There is a deep water marina there that is full service and allows owner repairs.

A couple yrs ago they (developers) started advertising water front houses in Indiantown.

Not sure if they bought that marina or dredged channels or what.

I thought it might have been a great target before people found it.

A buddy in Miami said they were nice.

I haven’t been there for 20 yrs.

I sold paint back then and cold called those hangers.

In one, I interrupted the taping of an episode of the DIY boating show that was popular down there!

Another one was a company that restored P-51 Mustangs!

I remember being blown away seeing a rack of hanging V-12 crankshafts!

I checked on them while I waited to get into my yard and they’re almost twice as much. Got those East coast prices to stay up with.

I see that the Boathouse at the Yacht Club burned down. Man, they have been through some real $hit the past few years!
