Spectre Support

Since opening Spectre in 1993 I have enjoyed building friendships with all of my loyal customers. I am proud of the Spectre line of performance and fishing boats that I have manufactured for the past 17 years.
Currently, Frisini Motorsports/Arrow Powerboats is manufacturing cats. I am not in any way associated with the current boats being manufactured and marketed under the Spectre name by the forementioned organization.
I am continuing to build boats and I am available to all past and present Spectre owners. I offer full service, parts, restoration, repair, repowering and answers to all your Spectre questions or needs.
Thank you to all the loyal Spectre friends that I have met over the years and your help in making Spectre a World Class Performance boat!
I look forward to continuing our heritage,
Sincerely,
Jay Pilini

No I am not associated with Frisini/Arrow Powerboats in any way.

Currently I offer the 15' Clearview Glassbottom Skiff, a 24' Closed deck V-Hull and a 27' Center console.
The new models will be tooled up soon.

OL40SVX 12-03-2010 05:35 PM

Jay,

So im assuming they're still going to use the Spectre name? So two Spectre's again?? Would love to see the 32 widebody that was planned all along.

TeamSaris 12-03-2010 08:14 PM

I heard from a dealer here in CT that the "Frisini/Arrow Powerboats" dealers all got a letter demading they stop using the Spectre name. I also heard them say Jay Pilini has it trade marked. Which I guess makes sence - Jay is the only one who could successfully build Spectres. We learned that in California.

skater40 12-10-2010 12:09 PM

Pilini falsified a trademark application in dec 2008 whereas he stated under penalty of perjury that no one else was using the spectre name and he was the only one using the name.
He has been issued a cease and desist order and a lawsuit is being prepared for fraud along with a investigation by the trademark office.
Fricini motorsports is the inheititer of the true Spectre powerboats name and they have the original molds that Pilini sold to Scot Conrad.Pilini was a employee of Fricini Motorsports and helped with the transition of the molds until he was fired last month.

WOW

us1kw 12-10-2010 02:22 PM

I didnt want to engage on line but since you started it......

Skater40 a.k.a Gary Smith, investor of over $1.3m in Scot Conrd's Spectre - while Scot was completing the 42' you went & bought your own competitors boat?? You must be really shrewd - now you own the original Spectre molds (created by me) and you are allowing Frisini to use them. The attorneys can decide who Spectre really is - probably not someone with the user name of Skater40.

Speaking of how smart you are, Frisini's press releases state they are building many boats from your molds......have you been compensated since I ended my involvement with Frisini?

Have a great holiday
Jay

skater40 12-10-2010 02:51 PM

I wndered how long it would take for you to pop up using your correct log in name.
Yes ,Fricini is purchasing the molds and the absolute right to build Spectre Powerboats and sell them under the Spectre name that you sold in dec 2005 to Scot Conrad aka SC Performance and i inheirited thru foreclosuer.
You received all of the purchase mony for the rights to Spectre Powerboats ,the molds and the trade mark.
Why you continue to spew hate and discontent is baffeling.
Yes it will be sorted out in a court of law-you can count on it.

us1kw 12-10-2010 02:57 PM

I am proud of what I have done with Spectre since creating it in 1993. I flattered that you are so persistent in using my name.
Thank you,
Jay

catlife 12-10-2010 05:06 PM

Not a lot of positive for the industry being said here......
I'm sure litigation sells lots of boats.

Good job.

MARINE ENGINEERING 12-19-2010 08:13 PM

It is hard to believe that Jay would do anything fraudulent. I have known him for at least 25+ years, from back in the Motion days. He has sold boats and engines to alot of people that I know including myself. Have always heard great things about him. He has a "outstanding reputation" for being a quality designer, boat builder, and being "very honest". Must be true since he is still in the boat business after 25+ years. I have never heard of anyone having a bad experience with him. He sticks to his word. I know because I bought 2 boats from him, (28' & 32'), and it was a pleasure doing business with him. (Don't let one person cast a black cloud on his image that he has worked his whole life to achieve).

I agree, I second and third this motion about Jay. I been doing business with Jay for over 10 years and Jay has become a dear friend of mine and two boats later, a 30’and 32’, I am happy to say I would do it all again. I have never been let down by him or his product!!!!

Agreed, I don't take sides in things like this. Jay has always treated my wife and I very well when working on our boat. I don't know the new guys but I'm sure they are good people and I hope they both can work this out.

Yep, he built me 2 new boats. New set-up on the 36 presented new issues, but he hung in there until the end to make it all right for me including taking care of all warranty issues.

Jay-Keep us informed on your progress!

Boater8987 12-24-2010 07:34 PM

I would also agree. Jay provides great service and support. Good enough for me to tow my Spectre from VA to FL, passing many other local and closer boat dealers along the way, to have his company due upgrades. From needing a $25 part to purchasing a big $$$$$ boat. You will not be disappointed. As stated already, he has earned his reputation. Best of luck Jay!

Jay - you don't seem to get on OSO that much, so one word of advice - don't get into these little tit for tat arguments with people in the forums. Your reputation precedes you and the other side will have a long way to go to overcome your credibility. Let it be settled in court, and don't lower yourself to their level. The way you gracefully began this thread will be sullied by anything less.

Great words of advice. he ran a real tight shift for a long time, a lotta people will always be loyal because of that

40FlatDeck 01-21-2011 09:27 AM

Jay, I owned a 36. It was a great boat, and you built a great product.

BUT

Why you challenge Gary is beyond me. He does not get into anything half ass. He has the molds, the rights, everything....
If you have not found out already, he is 100% in the right, and he absolutely will not stop.

It's a shame what Conrad did, but your involvement ended with him.

Good luck in the future. You obviously have skills in the boat building dept.

For Jay

Good to see you're doing OK Jay. I used to work for Frisini/Arrow until they relocated to Ft. Pierce. I don't know if you heard about this but they didn't pay their employees their last paycheck. It's a shame there aren't more honest people like you around...
