My boat is just too fast for my lake. Just repainted by Graphix Efx. Need a smaller cruiser type boat (I can't believe I just said that). Check it out in the classified section.

Thank you for the compliment If I lived on a larger body of water, this could be the perfect boat for me. It really does everything well. :p

You must be right. I just started the engines for the first time this year. I let her warm up for a few minutes, went through my checklist and then idled her out into the main channel for a quick run. Nobody was out there and the water had a nice 4" ripple. I brought her up to about 70mph and let it stay there for a two minutes. She purred like a kitten. I couldn't resist and pushed the throttles to the floor. She accelerated like a rocket and after a few seconds I looked at the GPS and it was on 122mph and the tachs were at 5,400rpms. I got off it because I was disappointed with the speed. Something must be wrong. Then I looked at the fuel gauges and they both showed full! I also realized that I still had negative trim on the Dana tab. So I tried it again in the other direction. I brought it up to 70mph nice and easy and then nailed it. It started airing out and just floating like it should. What a feeling! It went right up to 122mph again. Now, for some positive trim. The boat took a set and this time the tachs went up to 5,800 and the GPS read 128mph and then some. Man that felt good! It scared the crap right out of me. That's the feeling you have to get, otherwise it is not the real deal, Right? You need that "E-Ticket Ride" every once in a while. When these big cats get up on their haunches and start floating everything turns into slow motion and you can't hear a thing and you can't feel a thing. Its like sitting on top of a cloud watching the world rotate below you. Anyway, I forget that the end of the lake was getting close ( 3 miles goes so damn fast ) and had to chop the throttles real quick to get down off plane in a hurry before I wound up in my neighbors living room. I turned off the engines and sat that for a moment to reflect on my run. Just then a Fountain came blowing by.. balls to the wall. I thought, "It's time for my baby's lunch.. let's go eat the Fountain for lunch!" I got up on plane and caught up to the Fountain in a New York minute. I realized that he was my buddy and we ran the lake side by side at around 90MPH for about 20 miles. What a ride.... not another boat in site.. just the two of us running almost flat out. You just can't buy this kind of thing. Unfortunately, it only comes in April and early May. After Memorial Day, forget about it, the lake gets packed. I am so glad that I bought this Spectre. It does everything right. But, it needs a home where it can run. This lake it just getting to crowded. What a shame.

Yeah, Thats the CAT FEELING were all here for. Like a junkie on crack...I too keep my runs full out short cause things can go bad so quick at that speed. Its the ADRENALINE it pumps you full of cause you know you can hit triple digits and forget about everything in the world cause your so focused on what your doing. RESPECT HER and she'll DELIVER THE MAIL!
I tell the wife these days about (fuel) it's better then being hooked on crack. It's the insurance that may do me in soon. With 3 years cat experience you think they would back off. Hit the new guy with these un-real rates and let him crawl before he walks. After May 22 I will need a new carrier cause Blackadar is out of the HP biz.

What are you going to do about the insurance issue? I am in the same boat. I have been piloting boats since 1961 and driving cats since 1980 (starting with my 21' Jones Tunnel and moving on to a 23' Eliminator then 32' Skater then 25' Talon then 28' Skater and now 36' Spectre).
