I always just layed a large towel over the bolsters, and never had a problem with it sliding off. But if you do what Sydwayz suggests it will stay in place for sure.

My boat got trailered from AZ to CT with cockpit cover on, no issues at all. I towed it locally with the cover on also without a problem. My Nordic had a lexan windscreen also, just make sure it fits tight.

Chris, I trailer my 288 and 32 everywhere with the cockpit cover on, but no bow cover. I place 2 towels on the windscreen and use the poles. Probably have 2000+ miles on the 288 with no signs of scuffing or scratching whatsoever.
Have a safe trip.

BTW where were you this year at the lake Champlain milk run???

Hey Claude,,, keep the 2 poles in correct ?? I would have loved to do the Champlain trip again, it was absolutely beautiful last year,, but @ nearly 3.00 bucks a gallon, I just couldn't see spending over 600.00 for one day of boating... 3 fill ups for the truck and a full tank for the boat plus food and everything else was a lot of $$$$.. any chance you guys could move the lake closer to me ??? LOL..

P.S. thanks again for all the suggestions guys... boat will be going to PA on Saturday, weather is looking warm but calling for a bit of rain, so the cover is gonna need to be on...

Yes I keep the 2 poles in, and actually I even raise them maybe 1/2" or so to make it that much tighter. :p

Re: trailering a 288 w/ factory cockpit cover ??

I trailer everywhere with both covers on. Haven't gotten a scuff on the fairing without towels, and I do tighten up snugly both poles to take any slack out. For extra long trips taping around the front cover down the sides, and/or just down the forward sides of the cockpit cover, helps keep any road-grit from rain etc. from getting up inside. Just don't leave any tape on for long periods (days) in the hot sun. The sticky crap will leave a mess.

Took the boat down to PA on Friday,, Towels between the cover and the fairing, both poles in and was quite happy to not see ANY flappin, in the front anyway. Was wondering if anyone has followed anybody trailering w/ the cover on ?? does it flap at all in the rear ??? looks like I was wrong, and will be trailering this way from now on... Thanks again guys...

My friend made video following me eating White Castle burgers like Super Troopers....

My factory cover fits perfect. I would never trailer without one. Too much dirt and grime out there.

My dominator fit tight in the back too. Keep ther poles tight and it won't balloon up in the back.
