Picked up my 500's
 

Picked up my motors last weekend, Going to install them on Saturday,, Very impressed with the dyno results, ,I also bought 1" imco lowers with xr uppers. I am going to run with my xz standard drives first then switch to xz uppers with 1" lowers, that should give exact results with the x dimension change. i will let you know the results.

Today was test day number #1 -Lake Erie- Temperature was 70 very flat to 1 footers- started out with 30 labbed bravo- 89 mph-shut down at the rev limiter, put 32 bravo labs bounced off limiter 5800 at 91 mph-put 30 5px hydro's 90.8 at 5400, next put herring 6 blade 29 inch-87.8 at 5200, i will put my 1" shorty imco's on and will give the results.

I understand, The only reason I went with the 2" shorty's was because of Chris at Stern drive specialties in NY. he already did a 32 Sunsation w/ the 2" shorty's and had great results. So that's why I ordered them. Also it was easier to add spacers if it didn't work rather than make the 1 inchr's shorter:D

I agree with the spacer approach.

Took a test run today, 1" imco lowers and p5x 30" labbed, increased speed to gps 94mph, but was on the edge. very hard to control unless i have to get used to that unstable feeling. has anyone tried this ? It might be the props, next run i will try my 6 blade herrings. what props are you guys running?
