33' sunsation dominator questions

http://www.offshoreonlyclassifieds.c...o10414-en.html

Considering getting some more information on this boat. I was wondering if any of you guys can tell me some more about this model. This looks like a good deal and it seems to be in good shape. I figure if i can run it this season and maybe next, i could put in a different motor combination to get some more speed out of it.

Any known issues with these boats?

No issues with Sunsation they build a great boat. Their customer service is second to none. If you were to buy that used Domiator any had question or were looking for advice. If you called the factory they would treat you the same as if you had bought a $600,000 F4 they are great people.
As far as that Dominator goes it seems to be a lot of Boat for the money. Seems like a good deal. I've had a Dominator for 6 years and I love it. Great performance, excellent quality and just a great all around boat. Go on Sunsations web site and ask about this boat or any Dominator over there you will get lots of input. Probably even from one of the owners of the company. There is another older Domiator on their site as well I think it's a 93, looks like another good deal.

thanks for the input. I think its a great looking boat, just a little dissappointed in the power, but for the price...

Same boat, same price as last year

waterboy222 05-08-2007 11:28 PM

thanks, at least i got some better pics.. and it helps to know that the price has been the same for a year... no response from the owner yet, anyone know an email for him?

waterboy222 05-15-2007 12:20 PM

Spoke with the owner today. Has 700+ hours and they're the 3rd owner but only used it a few times because they both had a boat when they met each other. He says it should run 70mph with different props, does that seem about right? He didnt know a whole lot about it because of the situation (new girlfriends exboyfriends boat kinda thing i think) but he was as helpful as he could be.

Think this is a good deal?

I've seen that boat in person at the Rally. It is very clean.

Chris288 05-15-2007 01:39 PM

with gas going towards 4.00,,,, what about a 28 w/ a 500, faster, half the gas, half the maintenace, not too much of a difference in handling.

Gary864 05-15-2007 02:13 PM

I owned that boat new. It ran great. The Cockpit interior was replaced since I owned it. It was yellow and black then. That is number 7 if my memory is right of the 32 made. They made 2 yellow ones and that other had a black and blue stripe where this one has 2 black. I was on the boat 2 or 3 years ago ( last owner) and it still ran like new. The hull as far as I know has never been wrecked and with the 330's was not to bad on gas.

waterboy222 05-15-2007 03:47 PM

see, thats what i love about this forum! Thanks for your input Gary. Do you know anything about the trailer or the stereo system in it. He said he didnt know if the speakers in it were subwoofers or not, he said he didnt know much about stereo stuff..haha.. He said the only thing he noticed right off was a rip in the backseat, but other than that he thought everything looked good on it still..

He is supposed to talk to the previous owner and see if they will give me a call so they can answer my questions about rebuilds and whatnot, hes only owned the boat for a year.

Thanks!

waterboy222 05-15-2007 03:49 PM

the price seems right too... he's willing to negotiate on it to sell it because they have 2 or 3 boats now..

SUNSATION 25 05-15-2007 07:53 PM

Check the Speedwake ads, my buddies 96 with 500HP's just went up for sale....................

waterboy222 05-15-2007 09:08 PM

ya, at 56k its a bit out of my price range, nice boat though! I wish this one had 1000hp..

How much are you looking to spend??? I believe the yellow one has a wet transom, and there's another one near me that is for sale around the same $$$ but not yellow with a wet transom....both these boats are local and I can take a look if your real interested...I can borrow a moisturemeter from Sunsation if your "REAL" interested.......My buddy will take a good offer on his 96, and the transom has been done along with a newer interior and newer 500's...nice pkg for the $$$.....................

waterboy222 05-16-2007 11:31 AM

wow, thanks, thats another good deal....I may just give this guy a shout, if not, then its a good bargaining tool for the yeller one!

waterboy222 05-17-2007 02:46 PM

well, i made an offer.. we'll see, he said he had to talk to his wife about it..

waterboy222 05-23-2007 08:08 PM

Well, he accepted the offer! And I walked away with a 93 domintor w 454's, all options on the inside, great paint and a triple axle trailer for $35,000. Not a bad deal in my book.. Engines fire right up and sound smooth, no gelcoat cracks on the outside that seem to be of any concern, very well taken care of.. im so proud!

SUNSATION 25 05-24-2007 03:38 PM

Good luck with your new 32!!! the're great boats..........

waterboy222 05-29-2007 01:45 PM

She ran great. Turns out the trim switch was wired backwards, one trimmed up, one trimmed down when i hit the switch. Luckily i was only at about 35mph when i figured out what it was.. two connectors were swapped. OTher than that and a dead battery on the lake monday afternoon, she ran like a champ. Its in bad need of new gauges, half of them dont work!

jryan26 07-11-2007 04:55 PM

I saw the yellow boat today at 121st and memorial. Looks very nice.

With only $35k invested for a 32 foot twin BB boat, you've got pleanty of room to investin some gauges, new battery's, and whatever other personal touch you want to add. Good deal, congrats.

waterboy222 07-16-2007 12:18 PM

I'm surprised you got 2 new labbed props for under a grand!

Where did you get them?

Why do you need more freeboard for Oklahoma lake boating?
I have run my boat to the Bahamas and freeboard wasn't what I was wishing I had more of! :D

waterboy222 07-16-2007 07:06 PM

I got them off of here.. A guy messaged me and said he knew of a set that was fresh and gave me another guys number.. Ended up gettin them for under $500. Heck of a deal..and he really helped me out with some other issues i had too..

I want a deeper boat with a bigger cockpit. When theres four people sitting on the swimstep, the back of the boat is almost completely under water.. I want to be up higher, not so close, this isnt the best boat in the world for a really rough lake on a holiday weekend, not the dryest out there either.. but i still love my big yellar banana..

waterboy222 07-16-2007 07:07 PM

and I boat everywhere, not just Grand. Im doing LOTO, Grand, and Galveston this year alone.
