This could be a great deal for someone......

05 32 killer paint, 260 hours asking 50K

Sweet deal, especially if it is clean.

I'm trying my hardest, and those guys there can't verify "if it's there", or return a call (in a timely manner).....etc.

It hadn't even been there for a monday yet I think (when they check bids with banks) when I called, and the first clown says it's sold. At this point it was only on boattrader, not even their site. It later shows up on their site, and I call again, and a different guy says, "yeah it's available, but maybe in transit, let me get back to you." Never heard back and can't get anyone to answer but the operator, who doesn't know anything and puts you through to these brokers.

I'm thinking someone there has a buddy who wants it and they are screwing the bank and giving everyone else a runaround.:party-smiley-004:

It is not you or even the boat.........the place is jammed with inventory with repo trucks hauling stuff in hourly! The "sales" reps sit on a long hallway with doors on both sides and there are probably 12-15 guys trying to move these boats all day long. The receptionist can barely answer the phone. Literally they have to go look on the lot to see if it is still there since someone across the hall might have sold it/shipped it out.

Call Ed Cozzi here on OSO. He is 10 minutes from the place and has been there many times. He might have a contact there for you and he can survey the boat if you are serious. I saw the boat in the water about 8 months back going down the ICW in Lauderdale. Sunsations are still rare sightings in S. FL so this boat definitely caught my eye. The paint is nice.

Thanks again. It's funny how we have two conversations going on two boards on this.:drink:

I was hoping to get Ed to survey it if I got that far.

I heard back from someone today actually, so it does appear they are just swamped with calls. The boat has a few issues, but nothing major.

I wouldn't expect any issues on a 6.2 with 270 hrs, unless 265 of them were at WOT correct? These things should be good for well over 500 hours right? I believe that is what you have in yours?

Overall, there are some other boats I'd be more interested in (Cig Mystique/Bullets, AT 32's that are bigger "for the size") but if I get the right deal this might be the boat for me. It definitely has some of my favorite paint from pre-SS boats.

Oh, sorry for the hijack, I just don't want to post a new thread pointing it out and getting "too much interest" in the boat.;)

Mine does have 6.2's but at 220 hours both motors had issues but were covered under Mercury's extended warranty (with a little arm twisting). They argued that they ingested water through the exhaust due to low exhaust height angle. But they approved the angle/design originally. Boat now has 270 hours +/- and runs fine with $4500 in new exhaust.

Knowing what I know now if the motors have an issue out of warranty I would just buy a set of used 496 HO's and be done with it. They are a lot more common on the used market and a used pair would still be cheaper than a pair of new 6.2s. The 6.2s run that boat fine and it jumps up on plane nicely. Keep in mind the 6.2's are 10 HP less than the old 454 Mags that are significantly heavier.

Here is a Hot Boat article on a 32 with 6.2s (my actual boat): http://sunsationboats.com/articles/hotboat0304.pdf

Actually, I've thought exactly that. If I can buy it right and the motors turn into just expensive anchors, I could upgrade to HO's fairly easily and still be OK.

Thanks
