Im going to wait and find the next boat before I try anything, I was approved already on a 32 dominator so this time around financing shouldn't be an issue..

Powerplay j.... I have a friend who bought a 2001 single engine dominator brand new. Single 500 efi, he claimed it ran 75 mph. I still don't believe 75 because he never gps'd the boat so im guessing that was what the speedo read. But I ran with him many times in my 2001 sonic prowler 496 ho, and he ran away from me easily. It planed faster, accelerated faster and topped out much faster. Id say true 70mph boat. It never made sense to me, I can just tell you what I saw with my own eyes. Everyone in our area sti swears he whippled the boat because it ran that well. He traded it in may 2011 for 35k because he couldn't sell it in this market. I still kick myself to this day for not putting my boat up for sale sooner because I sold it fast and I would have had the sunny. Sh!t happens I guess.

If you had the chance to drive both, I can't imagine you would go with a single. These boats are simply too big to dock with a single. I am always so glad that I can use twins to get me out of tight spots.
It may be a rare boat, but that is probably for good reason.
I don't want to offend anyone with one, I'm sure they are a blast...this is just my preference.

If you know how to dock a boat single or twin then you wont have an issue. No doubt twins make it easier but I wouldn't shy away from a particular model because I was afraid of docking it.... as far as the single vs. Twin on performance, I must day its pretty damn cool running that fast on a boat that size with a single. If the right deal pops up id love twin 496ho or 500efi. There just isn't the right deal right now. There's a 2002 dominator twin ho boat 30 min from me with like 600 hours and there asking 75k for it..... im not sure what world they are in but that boat will sit forever at that price. I went to out a deposit on a 2001 in new york last yea. Already closed the loan, was giving the deposit to hold the boat for a survey and the boat was a piece of junk and I could have killed the a hole.

32 is the biggest I would want a single. I believe some are pushing 90mph. Call Joe at the factory and see if he knows of anything available. (810)794-4888

My boat is 32' LOA w/single. I wouldn't worry too much about the docking issue. It's not too bad, particularly if you have competant helper(s).
What about twin SBCs? I think that would be a nice setup.
