Default Looking at an 89 Rocket

A friend of mine has been looking for a boat and I saw this 89 Rocket for sale on craigslist in the detroit area. Anybody know anything about this particular boat? He is asking 10500 for it, doesnt give much detail but i have a call into him. He says it has a new drive. I used to have a 95 aggressor and loved it! What are the differences from the rocket to the aggressor. Thanks in advance for any advice or info! MIKE

It's been for sale for a while. I looked at it last year, and it wasn't great. Needed a new interior, there were several loose wires all over the engine bay, the trailer had seen better days... The "New" outdrive was installed 5+ years ago. I don't remember the rest of the details, but needless to say, I didn't buy it. I think it had a newer Transom as well.

I saw that it was for sale on the sunsation website for 12k oro back in Aug of 2010 but the phone number listed on that ad was different than this current listing so I thought maybe someone bought it and maybe had issues and is selling it right away. Its hard to value this type of older boat since there arent many to compare to but didnt think $10k was to out of line but it all depends on condition. do you remember the hull being in good condition? was it mostly cosmetic issues that turned you away or was it not mechanically sound? Thanks for the replies guys! Mike

I don't remember the details, sorry! I think the biggest thing I took from it was that I got the feeling that it had been poorly taken care of / maintained (Mainly due to the loose wires, poor trailer condition). IIRC The hull / Gel was in OK shape, but needed some TLC.

I walked because I was looking for a more turn key boat / less upfront project.

10-12k seems to be the going rate on the Rockets.

Thanks for the input Rob! I will have to take a look at it and see. Trying to see if I could get any insight prior to making the trip . Thanks again for the info.

Where is it located? I'm going to be down at boat Sat and could take a peek if it's close by.

I know it somewhere about 20miles south of Detroit area. Guys is supposed to be sending me some detailed pics and details of where its loctaed shortly. Might be a nice boat and hopefully he is willing to negotiate if it needs interior and trailer work.
