Just wondering if anyone is running a lab finished 24P Bravo 1 on their 288? Mine has the 496 Mag (non H.O.) I got into a little gravel early this year and roughed up the edges, its not bad but i'm a perfectionist when it comes to the boat just not sure if i should just have it cleaned up or get the full lab finish. With two adults, 90 gals. of fuel i could turn the 24p 4200/4300 rpm @ 63mph this is consistant every time out. Just wondering how the 288/496 combo does with a labbed
24P? Engine cover says 4400 - 4800 rpm range, i am not on the rev limiter currently and dont really want to be setting it off every time i make a WOT run.

I'm running the stock 24p so not much help. However, if you look at the cost to have it labbed compared to just having yours cleaned up it doesn't seem like it would be worth the coin. However, I bought my boat to leave it stock and enjoy it for what it is...

On my old 288 I ran a 26 non lab with a 496HO and banged the chip if the water got any kind of chop on it.
If you are not hitting the rev chip now be careful with who you get to lab your prop, I personally would talk to the guys at Algonac (Wayne or Joe) usually they have the boats set-up pretty close to optimum before they send them from the factory...
Just my 2 cents for what its worth...

Thanks for the input guys i think i'm jsut going to clean it up rather than lab. I spent almost $300 to have BBlades lab my 28p i ran on my Baja 252 yes i picked up a few hundred rpm and MPH but my plan is to do the conversion to H.O. and i will need to change props anyway at that point. I love the reliability of the stock 496, 50 hrs this summer and nothing but an oil change!!
