I always kept my rpm up around 1000 or so coming off plane in the dominator to help eliminate chances of reversion. The 496HOs that were in my Formula ran way lower water pressure than what folks are reporting here. They would run 1-2 lbs at idle and around 12 lbs at 3500 rpm on my vessel view.
