Thanks Knot 4 me. Yep they will be the Corsa tips for sure. I think that is the way I'll go. I do not understand the baffled tips when one has captains call to quiet things down. No need for a baffle. IMO.

I went from baffled to non on my 288. Made a huge difference. Ended up getting them directly from the factory.

Kewl, that is exactly what I was hoping to hear. Awesome.
I did just have to replace the entire captains call as it was not working. It was always quiet. I did not know about not running above 3000 or 3500 with captains call on. I had to replace the entire wiring set up as it was all one piece. Are there any other good to know things with captains call? I heard (and it makes sense) you only switch from one to the other at low RPM. And someone told me if you leave it on the loud side with the boat turned off it can drain your battery. That does not sound right to me. I think I've left mine on with no issues, but not sure. Any other tips? |

As far as battery drain, that would depend how it's wired. Does the exhaust switch or captains call solenoids have power when the key is off? If so, you're probably draining the battery. If it's wired to the ignition key, then no. |
Most of the boats had 4" angle cut tips from Eddie Marine. Part # 100-08. These have the internal flapper. We also did a lot with Big Gun tips from Corsa. Part #11138. Both sound good. I personally like the straight out exhaust if you can get away with it. As far as the battery drain goes, the captains call solenoid could be getting stuck, but once you turn off the batteries it should be off. It is not connected to direct power from the factory. Hope this helps.
