When will the new 38 be ready

The Aug 04 Hotboat has an article on the PP 38. It talks about 85 mph with 525s on a fully loaded boat. No reference to amount of gas on board. Later in the article it indicates the boat weighs in between 8500 and 9500 lbs depending on how you option it. I assumed it was closer to 9500 loaded since it had air, TV, gen set and "every conceivable option" according to the article. The problem is that these are reported performance numbers rather than actual tests. I've seen the same "reported" numbers in Hotboat in June 03, but never have really seen actual test numbers on the boat. If anyone has ever seen actual test numbers, please let me know.
So we won't really know until the new boat takes the 1st splash. I know Wayne's goal is to get 80 out of it with 525's, guess we will see how close he gets to his goal.
I'm loading it up with lots of options, so it may be a stretch to get to 80 with the extras.
If any of you are going to be at the Sunsation rally next summer it will be there, and we will take it out and see what we can get out of it.

Sounds like this is going to be an awesome boat. I cannot wait to see one.
I have a real hard time believing 86 out of the 38' PP with 525's. I would think high 70's-low 80's at best. I don't believe magazines. Have to see it to believe it.

You can also check with the guys at the Sunsation plant. They went down and did some testing of this hull. My understanding was they went out with 4 guys in a 38 with 525's and it ran in the 80's. And reportedly one engine was a bit sick.

DaveSunsation, Any performance goals for the 366 with 496 HO's and 525's?. Also any headroom ideas? I looked at a 38 Powerplay in Miami last year and was impressed. Will the 366 be a shortened version? Being able to stand in the cabin is very important to us older boaters. The 38 Powerplay worked well in this respect for me (5'6") and my wife(5'8"). Can't wait to see the results on both new boats.

Pics of construction on this thread in case you haven't been there.

F311,
It's way to early for any performance numbers on the 36 - 38, have to get F4 (43'4")finished and tested before we'll have any idea on what we could expect a shorter version to run. RIght now we're expecting the molds to be completed late Jan, early Feb and production to begin then for a July completion date - in a perfect world that is. Once that has been accomplished and we have a few in process we'll start the 36-38 project and expect that release hpefully in time for the boat show season, Jan, Feb 06. That's about the best dart I can throw right now.
Headroom in the F4 will be 6' and that will carry over into the shorter version as well.
