Talked to Wayne yesterday. Boat ends up being 43 feet 4 inches . I believe the final length is set. Width is 8 feet 9 inches at the widest point, they added 1.5 inches on each side to put the same flare out around the rub rail that is on the dominator. It is still 8'6" at the transom though.

My slip at lake of the ozarks is only 40 feet long, so now I can start that project.
what mile marker is your slip?
im at sunrise ridge 10 mm.
cant wait to see this monster on the water.
do you have a tentative completion date?
oh , and congrats
Sunsation makes a great boat with impecable customer service!

I am at Parkview Bay condos. You go under grand glaize bridge, like you are on the way to party cove, and go left at the end of the no wake zone (you go right if you go to party cove).

Not sure about the completion date yet. Goal is to have it by next season, but just depends on how much tweaking things need. Time will tell.

Reckless, you are probably right. My information on 8'6" width limit is really dated. I just found some language on the Illinois dept of transportation site that would lead me to believe in IL it is 10 feet. Although, the site was not too clear. My guess is width limits are state specific. I am going to post another thread on general discussion to see what we get.

Yeah actually 10' or such may be closer to what I've heard over the years though my memory is a bit faded right now.

Looks like 8'6" is the legal limit. See the responses from the post on general discussion http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=89703.

I also talked to a friend of mine today that has towed wider loads. He said it is 8'6" on the interstate system. Usually anything under 10feet requires a simple permit. My understanding is you can pick them up easily, even from some truck stops.

At least in IL, over 10 and you get into escorts etc. In the above thread there is a link which takes you to a web site with state rules.

My daughter and I were at the plant yesterday. Here is a couple shots I took. The hull and deck are pulled apart now. The hull is upside down. They will remain this way until all the work is done and they shoot the molds off of them. I included a pic of my daughter and her dog Haley in the cockpit. Another of the cockpit where they are framing up the area for the power foot rests. You can see they have the cabin doorway framed in also, that door will also be power. I also shot a pic of the transom area. They notched a small step about 5 inches from the transom, hopefully will give the props better water and should be able to raise the X dimension a little. You can also see where they framed in the swim platform. We measured the size of the sun deck over the engine compartment - it will be 80 inches long. Plenty of room for the girls to lay out.

I also looked at the CAD data on the computer for the interior layout and saw some sketches of the dash layout. They are doing some very cool things in this boat.

Hey Dave, remind your wife to leave some cash in your wallet the next time you go to breakfast!

All kidding aside - it was great to see you guys. You never know, I may not see you again until the Miami show. Oh well, probably not, you won't be able to keep me away that long.

By the way, we made great time on the way home again. From the plant to my door step in 6 hours 15 minutes. I think the plant took all the energy out of the dog, she slept all the way home. And Annie talked about the boat most of the way home. Her comment when we left was "dad, your 32 seems small now." Her other comment was why would you screw around with an inverter, just get the gen set. Smart girl!

I need to stop her from cleaning out my wallet, but with two highly energized boys who want to do everything that's a tall order and one I can't hold against her. Maybe I'll have to work for All State so I can make some real money....... :-)

It was obvious your daughter had smarts – we know she got that from her mothers side.

Doors always open for you to visit anytime pal, no appoinment neccessary !!!!
