Re: F4 Progress
What the heck man - the seats were supposed to be red and gray, not blue and grey. Now you have to start all over again  ....
What is the square on the dash on the port side dash for? You could mount a camera on the back and play it on a small screen there  Thanks for the update - good progress. Looks like you will be finishing the interior in a couple weeks so you can make Miami. :evilb: :evilb: :evilb: The only thing I wonder about is the inset going into the side walls which the throttles will sit in. Remember the comment you made over Xmas? |
Re: F4 Progress
Looks huge! I'm still confused some, in these pictures you are building a mold plug right? A template for the mold right? Why do we see steering wheels, and GPS's mounted. Or is that just for touch and feel testing? And if you looking for coments, kinda hard to tell for sure, but the throttles look a little low!

Re: F4 Progress
ergonomics.
thanks for posting all the pictures Dave. very interesting stuff  |
Re: F4 Progress
C Jeff,
Measure twice cut once my dad always told me, Wayne's always checking for tolerances, clearances, etc. so placing real equipment in during the tooling phase will help ensure perfect fits. The throttle pic's look a little deceiving at this point as that whole area is recessed in, it’ll all be set for proper ergonomics and ease of use. Steve H, A lot of folks like following this projects progress plus it helps me keep updated on what’s happening with it. I don’t get away from my desk enough so getting over to the R&D shop for pic’s helps me stay tuned. M Pause, That square area on the port dash will host a digital display remote for the stereo and switches for cockpit lighting and switch for the power cabin door. |

I think that swim platform and sunpad over the engines will be big enough to have a party on. |

Re: F4 Progress
There will be between 5" - 6" depth in these on both sides and we're looking at giving it a carbon fiber look.

Re: F4 Progress
Ill tell you what, Im really impressed. I being a custom home builder, and cabinet shop, realize the pain staking hours that goes into creating the final product. This project has really progressed and is taking shape very nicely. I rate you right up there in the best looking dashs with Nortech. The recessed areas look deep and shapley. The bolsters are, just ok, Im not a fan of those. The use of carbon fiber is in, not only on panels but material as well. Keep up the great work. Jeff

Re: F4 Progress
The more progress they make the longer winter seems.

Re: F4 Progress
Thanks guys,
Wayne, Dave Moriarty and the crew in R&D are a top knotch bunch and wanting to have the most incredible 42'-44' powerboat out there they're very motivated. The know there's many awesome boats in that size out there and they're hell bent on producing one that the rest will look up at. Knowing what I do (and some say that's not much :D ) I know they will. |
Re: F4 Progress
Way cool! I agree with Jassman....that dash is going to be one of the coolest ever.
Hey MP, are those new F4 towels of yours going to be big enough for that sunpad? :D |

We only do Pinewood derby cars and mine (I mean the kids) are getting better, but not at the top of the pack. I'm going to have to look into canoes!!!! What else can you tell me??? T500hps Silver Hawk |

If it were today, I'd bolt on an HP525EFI to that little bugger!! :p |

Re: F4 Progress

Re: F4 Progress
Mental - I was planning on going up with Rich but ended up having to work last weekend :( :( :( :(
Anyway, how was the trip?? I am going to St. Louis for sure. I heard good things about the CHI show this year.. |
Re: F4 Progress
there were some nice paint jobs to look at. Rich was doing his digs on a 39TG. I told him Cathy would never go for it after getting used to the PQ cabin. The rigging and engine compartment on it were exceptional. Paint was cool too. And the price, well, it was a cig, 419K show price. If Rich can sell his PQ for 300K+ he will be ready to move up :D :D :D

Re: F4 Progress
The faring looks great Dave. I really like what the guys did with trying to mold in the place to help get back and forth from the cockpit to the deck.
Great work - look forward to seeing pics of the new dominator. |
Re: F4 Progress
Dave, what is the ETA on your new F4. Pardon me if I missed it.
