We might have a boat to race some POPRA races this year I was just wondering if they have a schedule out yet.

Tenative schedule is:

Rum Run - July 8-9 (Catalina Island endurance race)
Pittsburgh - Sept. 9-10
Las Vegas (OSS Joint) Sept 16-17
Working on Huntington or Ventura

Approved schedule will be posted on www.pacificoffshore.com sometime next week. Web site is currently under re-construction.

Brian

BTW: No entry fee's for any current registered racers in ANY organization OSS/OPA/SBI (Rum Run Race only - so far)

YES it is. We are part of the new offshore festival in conjunction with the World famous Catalina Island ski race. City of Long Beach is pulling out all the stops. We'll be front and center at the Queen Mary, which will also serve as Hotel, and meeting rooms. The ski race will be Saturday, Personal water craft races Sunday AM and then a 75 mile open ocean endurance race.

SCOPE will also be supporting the race with a Catalina fun run.

Should be great time.

Brian

No changes posted on the OSS web site. You must have some info that others don't. You can check the OSS web site for their full schedule if your looking to come out and watch a race, we'd love to see you bring that boat out west.

How about a LaveyCraft - Extreme shootout at the Catalina Island Rum Run July 8-9. This brings back true offshore racing, 75 mile open ocean course from the Queen Mary to the Island and back. (Big water - the kind you love)

Frank I'll put my 496 HO motor (back in and run against your Extreme with a Crockett 500. You should have at least a 75 HP advantage (looks like an easy win for you). If you'll consider coming I'll take care of any race related fee's (membership) & and if you show up and can actually beat us, I'll pay your gas travel receipts.

I know you had a couple of good runs against us in Key West while our motor was running on 7 cylinders; but this, like all races prior to Key West; you will be beat by a LaveyCraft

I think its time you actually leave the state of Florida to do some racing, come to California, kick our butts, take our money and then you'll have something to gloat about.

Shane,

Were working to pull this together. Current schedule:

Rum Run - July 8-9 (Catalina Island endurance race)
Pittsburgh - Sept. 9-10
Las Vegas (OSS Joint) Sept 16-17
Destin - Worlds OSS/OPA/POPRA

POPRA web site should be up and running SOON. It has been contracted out and is currently under construction.

Rule Book - Our rule book should be completed this week and voted on for final approval next week and then posted immediately on the web site. For those that are interested, ALL 2006 race classes from OSS have been adopted, ALL race classes from OPA have been adopted and a Manufacturers Class will be voted on pending rules submission. Please check out the web site of OSS and OPA for specific class regulations until the time our rules can be posted.

OPA - POPRA have agreed to use the same point system and will allow a team to substitute points earned from (1) race if a team elects to travel and participate in the others event. We hope to get some of those east coast boats out here to help us with the Catalina race which conflicts with a previously scheduled OPA event. OPA teams that run Catalina will be able to count those points toward their National Points Championship.

Shane, I hope that you will be able to race with us this year. Its going to take everyone's help to get this club back on its feet again and we are getting a very late start. Please call anyone you may know and get them to bring their boat down for Catalina, you know we can place them in a P - Class with almost anything they bring.

More to come........

Brian

BTW: Frank the invitation is still open
