Re: Key West Final Results
Each year The Key West Worlds has it's own unique flavor.
This year the flavor was...Community.
Everything and everybody was relaxed, everyone was having a good time, and enjoying the most gorgeous weather you could ask for.
Carnage on the race course was minimal, and what few repairs needed to be made had teams swapping parts and helping each other out in any way they could. With a full day between races...there was plenty of time to get repairs done and still enjoy the night life.
Competition was stiff and exciting..the 3-race...1/2 points/ full points format worked perfectly. You raced, knew exactly where you stood in the points standings, and what was...was.
All the drama took place out on the racecourse...right where it was supposed to be. The pits..cranes, and fuel line operations where purring like a kitten. Everybody checked their ego's at the front gate, did what they needed to do, and smiled through the whole process.
Duval Street was...Duval Street. The Friday night boat display drew a crowd estimated to be bigger than Fantasy Fest. The merchants where thrilled...the revelers where pouring into the street, and with Saturday being an off-day...many partied till the wee hours of the morning. Lot's of aspirin was consumed on Saturday.
All-in-all....it was like a community project where everyone came out to do their part...have some fun...and enjoy being a part of something bigger than one's self.
Life Is Good!

AMEN ! The 15 chick's on top of that Apache damn near had the boat bouncing off the trailer. Unfortunetly I had to leave Saturday morning @ 7am and felt the pain big time. This was the first KW race for me and had a blast. Thank's all.
