Re: Miami race next weekend............
Volunteer boats can email me or the SBI/APBA office to pre-register for next sundays race.
CSI Miami will be shooting the race for one of it's programs so if your a volunteer with a patrol boat flag flying, you will be part of the show.
Registration will be in the usual area on Watson Island starting friday, the 20th.
Any questions?
Pat D.

Response has been great for this race........must be the fact that CSI Miami is going to shoot the race for one of it's shows and our patrol boat flags will show up as well as the race boats.
I now only need a 2 or 3 more boats to put divers on. If you need info. on this.......please email me or just show up at the pits on fri. or sat.
I'll be there........pd

Basics...
For med boats you need a working vhf radio........not too many passengers, no children. You would be issued a medical flag and given basic instructions and 2 medical divers would be on your boat.
You don't anchor, you are in the middle of the course at an assigned "zone" and communicate with race control, and respond to any incident that race control asks you to.
We can always use more patrol boats also, they would also be assigned a zone to monitor, anchor in that area and report to race control any incidents on the water in that area.
If your still interested, call me tomorrow, 305-393-0070 and I can give more details.
thanks for asking.........pd

A huge thanks to all support boats for this race.......those of you who ALWAYS show up, did it again, and the new guys did a great job and I hope to see the same team in Ft. Lauderdale.
If we can have a group of patrol/medical/turn/pace boats at every race on the east coast it will be terrific.
See you at the air and sea show and thanks again.
Pat D.
Anyone interested in joining this group please email me .

Yes, Sat. May 5th and Sun May 6th........I believe the schedule is the same, races at 9:00 a.m. BOTH DAYS and have to be off the water by 11:00 a.m. when the marines move onto the beach.
SBI website will have updated details asap re: dry pits etc.
