Default Robert Chunn Recognized

There is a good article in the Broward Times recognizing former Mayor Robert Chunn's influence on Offshore Powerboat Racing in South Florida.

http://www.browardtimes.com:80/index...=300&Itemid=45

Robert, and his sons, are some of the unsung heros of Offshore. Without Robert's vision, we may not have the numerous venues such as Dania, Hollywood, Ft. Lauderdale, and Deerfield to race.

Its good to see someone in the media recognize those who work behind the scenes to make things happen...so that we have a place to race.

I had the opportunity to sit and talk with Robert and his wife at Big Tuna's Racer Party in Dania. What a down to earth, warm, and genuinely interesting person.

Next time you see Robert, or one of his sons in the Pits...be sure to walk up let them know how much you appreciate everything they do for SBI/APBA...and Offshore.

With all this popularity we should put Robert back in the drivers seat in Dania.

Nothing exciting to report as you might guess.

I guess you guys have never tried to use the short name for a man named Richard here on the boards.

That will get you in trouble...

Looks like Robert has got his hand in a lot of things. He sure knows a lot of people...apparently pretty influential.

All that's missing is Pompano and Hallendale....then its a Gold Coast sweep.
