Any Marathon Updates?????

Any updates from Marathon?? who's is there, water conditions, ETC?

1HYPER1 05-16-2009 11:49 PM

It should be an easy update with such a low boat count.:lolhit:

wigginout 05-17-2009 07:11 AM

Food is great. Chappy.s on the water is a blast. Parties are awesome. Uh the boats? well there's 12. 3 tested yesterday. Water is a little choppy but green. Today should be fun. Just wish everybody could get together like it used to be, but what the hell, time for another cocktail!

rchevelle71 05-18-2009 06:40 AM

Had a blast, Chappys is a great spot. We got a little wet before the race, but it all went down and turned out great. Almost sunk my Pantera in the wetpits(literally) during the rainstorm, but thats another story:eek: Jayboat was on the boat with me, and should have some pics posted soon.

All things considered (Economy, another race this weekend), I think the boat count was just fine, things are starting to come together, give it time:drink:

F1-00 Racing 05-18-2009 07:05 AM

Heard a rumour that Daredevil finished and broke out on top of it. Is this true?

Congrats if it is, wow!!!!! Hes finishing and has the boat running over 85, this is cool for him.

Bilgerat 05-18-2009 07:28 AM

DareDevil.......That's a class 4 boat right ?? I can't remember.

Pat D 05-18-2009 07:33 AM

If this is true, then he was right when he said nobody could beat him.... They didn't need to, he beat himself...

Making up for all those he missed last year?

Pat D 05-18-2009 12:47 PM

Believe it.
People on the deck outside of race control were cheering and toasting him and he was waving and loving it.
He was like the energizer bunny....going and going and going
After the checkered flag he was one of the last ones out there.
Would I lie about that?

(there were times when a boat that broke, had to wait to cross the course until Scott went by........) pretty funny

BRUCE SEROFF 05-18-2009 12:50 PM

have the results been posted yet?

Pat D 05-18-2009 12:53 PM

I was just told they are working on it.......should be asap

p.s.
one of the camera crews was on the roof above me so they should have gotten picture proof of the daredevil show.........

Pat,

I didnt even think of that, we were on the backstrech in the spectator fleet, so we didnt see it, but must have been funny.

Hey Scott,

Thanks for the seat in your truck during the rain, but I had to get out to check on my boat, and stop it from sinking, something about the crane joke, and the fact that we had one if it did sink got me thinking, It was leaning to one side when I got out there, the cockpit drains run into an upper area, and the bilge pumps are at the lowest, well, one of the drains thru the stringers was clogged:eek:

Jamie Bowman 05-18-2009 01:56 PM

The keys radio station WFFG reports they were a turn boat and just as race was to start, it started to rain so hard you couldn't see the boats in the milling area. Start was delayed about an hour. Allegedly the Sea Tow boat had to bring in 3-4 boats "before" the start. Hope it was a safe race with what sounds like about 8 boats. WOW

Pat D 05-18-2009 02:02 PM

The only correct part of that post was that the race was delayed because of rain for exactly one hour.
Tow boats did NOT tow anyone back in before the start and 16 boats started.

Can you believe the way this stuff gets twisted???

I was there, and in that rain myself out on the boat, it wasnt that bad once they sent us out. I believe hard rock did miss the start due to a starter issue , but that was it.

Jamie Bowman 05-18-2009 07:51 PM

don't want anyone to think I am a nay sayer. I just posted the info I heard on that radio station, since it has been about a day and nothing else out. I did do my own math based on someone's prior post that 12 boats there, but that is my fault for believing what other people say on the radio and internet. There is an audio replay of the radio station I listened to today at the wffg website-select fishing report. That guy said he was a radio host on the start boat, a "38 fountain", and he must have had it wrong according to pat. I never try to post wrong or misinformation. I luv this sport, but it seems you cannot repeat what you hear or read anymore. I remember people here in st pete having a challenge with results of about 140? boats when we had the worlds. Shouldn't 16 boats in about 8? classes be easy? I'm dun!!!

No biggie,

I wasnt implying that you twisted it, it just gets that way sometimes. Yes 16 boats should be easy, but it was a tough weekend with the rain and all, cut them some slack the results etc will all come.

WELL WELL WELL ,,, i am really proud of my boat ,,but to set a couple of things straight .

I WAS a P-4 boat ,,,now running P-5 ,,that is why i broke out.

After long thought and lack of money for props ect. my team mate and i have decided to run in P-5 after the officials offered me to do so ( because the way the boat is set up ,,i have no chance in ecsseleration against twin engine boats ).
So they measured my boat and found its legal to run P-5 !!

I really don't care if i race in a 75 MPH class,,because i had a blast !!!:evilb:

Now u can all start bashing me because of 10 MPH,,,i really don't care if u do because i run my boat for me and my fans that love MY show and not for the ones that don't like it !!!!

Also ,,the first time in my life i have to admit that i will not stand up to my word about running OPA or OSS races.
I will only do SBI ,,maybe this changes ,,but the economy is what it is and i can hardly afford the racing i do !!

SORRY FOLKS !!

Scott DAREDEVIL RACING

PS.: Who ever wants to see the next show is welcome ,to be in FT.LAUDERDALE and just watch me fly along the coarse !!!:drink:

Pat D 05-19-2009 03:40 AM

JB..
I also wasn't blaming you.........I was more upset that you heard it from a KEYS representative.........radio or newspapers, it's a always a little "twisted" down here.:drink:

Superheat lost a fuel pump.....

Rum runner broke on the first lap and still won in P5. That must have been a surprise to them at the end of the day! :drink:
