Good thing SBI did not sanction the new record from New York to Bermuda.

IMO... run two motos... one saturday and one sunday... if something happens sunday to the lake, take moto 1's results and make it the final. Pretty simple to me. Kinda disappointed but not nearly as some of the teams that traveled a long way to launch and re-load. Good to see everyone again!!!

Is this not Offshore Powerboat Racing, LOL. All joking aside (Safety is the number 1 priority) and we still have some nice pic's to look at by "Darren US1" and "Jeff from Freeze Frame Video".

I was in the water helping find a person missing. The coast guard, police, life guards and about 50 volunteers from the beach. We all went in trying to find somebody that they presumed was missing in the water. They called all of us back in after 45minutes. Hopefully It was a false call. Mthey did rescue a boy but was told there was somebody else in the water. The big lake was rough.

I was very disappointed that they did not race today, but that water was huge and the search for the missing person was right in the lane at the time when the race was to be going on. I did have a great time and was lucky enough to spend some time with the JD Byrider crew what a great and welcoming bunch. Big thanks to Tony and Mark and the boys!

the current state of offshore racing is dead!!the big cats has ruined the sport.they should be racing with the hydros on rivers!! they been killing racers since the early 80s in cats. i raced in grand haven in 1989 in 8 to 10s and they ran the whole race a few boats sunk mostly skaters. but thats the chance you take.with cats if the bad water does not get you. speed will as in the case last year at key west with big thunder blowing over coming in to calm water.in the old days the big money teams would bring both a cat and a v- bottom.and never less than 100 boats at a national event.yes the state of offshore has diminished mostly because of the economy.

You are right, I have found that Tony Marcantonio of JD BYRIDER has always been one of the good guys of Offshore Powerboat Racing, friendly to all no matter who you are, everyone is treated the same, a great ambassador of the sport and for JD BYRIDER and a World Offshore Powerboat Racing Champion to boot. I always look forward to saying hello to this class act and his Team. Missed him this year at St. Clair.
