Yeah like mid summer when no ones around, and they can't give rooms away.
Don't get me wrong, I like the "area" and have plenty of friends living there. But not one of them knew anything about the race before I said I'll be in town next weekend. Plus we got bittched at 3 separate times by the Sheriffs dept that week for speeding or making a wake. All while idling... Actually told the last guy, "I idle at 7mph, maybe you should just tow me around then." Luckily someone on a jet ski went blasting by and saved me from a boarding. LOL

Looks like the poker run was a huge success congratulations. From the pics I looked at, great group, and lots of fun.

Yup the race is off the schedule. You are correct the promoters had to push hard last yr to get funded. This year the City refused to fund the race and the promoters had no support from from local business or residents. Actually the resident are against it and lobbied againt it, not something they want on Englewood Beach.
