Maybe you need to call Dor and ask her about the history of all this "you come to our race and we'll come to yours(wink wink)" Ask her specifically about the contract that OPA signed for NYC 2011 with SBI and didnt even honor(SBI did of course oh and I ran as an OPA team that day, what an embarrassing experience)

I am really surprised that this is your sales tactics on building boat count for Pt... I am by no means a salesman, but cutting down people to come up and join you? SMH Then on top of it, coming into someone else's sandbox and posting? I only wish you the best of success in your 35 and your 24 this season and beyond. If you desire to race Clearwater or any of the races on the SBI schedule, by all means, if i can help you in any way, give you the shirt off my back, whatever, let me know, I will do everything in my power to make it an easy transition for you...

Your a great guy Dave, really surprised at this post by you

I didn't mean to come across as a Dick. If you were offended I am sorry. My intention was not to recruit racers away from that race but merely offer the opportunity for them to run a real race. This post was directed at the small group of racers in my class, nobody else. We don't need to recruit, we average 10 boats a race and you know that. I can't speak for the others but I would love to run more Florida races. I was hoping it could work both ways if we got a group willing to make some sacrifices. Infact, it would make our class stronger down there and easier for us to run key west and Englewood.

By the way what is the purse in that real race that you mentioned. I would imagine if thats the real race it must have a REAL big purse.

Do you even race in this class? Forgive me, I haven't posted on offshoreonly in 6 years. Who are you?? Who said anything about a purse for this race? Maybe, maybe not. It's about racing a real race against "other boats". So you can go to sleep at night knowing one day when you win the worlds, there's not a guy down the street that's better and faster than you.....

If you do race this class, than stfu pack your bags, just like you said and Good luck winning the $1500 purse I put up.

Come on Dave... I agree Xtremes post was a low blow as anyone with a clue knows that Pt is a non paying race site and that SBI offers a guaranteed $65,000 purse with an additional $10,000 in contingencies at every race site they produce.

Heres my suggestion and please take it with a grain of salt. Become a leader, you yourself want to race fla races then come on and race them, dont put strings to it. You should do what is best for you and your family(team) and it doesnt matter what letters fly above the race course. Now if you take that initiative, then you have a platform to speak from, then you can come back and say "I ran with you guys down there, come up and and enjoy the fun with me" This "come race with us and we will TRY to come race with you" that crap wont fly, its been said too many times, contracts signed and not honored and is utterly useless. As you know, I speak from experience and I had the full support of both the SBI and OPA hierarchy and they fully understood the reasoning behind why I participated on both sides of the fence

You made the offer, its duly noted, let the teams that dont impress you make up their minds. While yes, I no longer own a boat that is eligible to participate in Class 5, the new owner has mentioned to me about running it at the beginning to get them acclimated to its intricacies(you of all know Beaks are finicky and will bite ya lol) it now has 750 in her so I expect the results to be a lot better than the 3rd place out of 11 (race 1 Jupiter) with a whole boat and overall 5th out of 11 with half a boat(Jupiter 2012) running a stock 500 EFI. I cant make any promises as my SVL is the priority and OPA does not offer a class for it, the way she is set up, well added to Cocoa is my backyard..

Side note off topic: you ran the beak in Class 3 last year and ran it as V-7, the rules state that you should have ran as "307".... once again, I dont care if the president doesnt follow his own rules, be a leader Dave, as I stated, your a great guy

Not sure what maybe or maybe not means. Is there a purse or not, I'm sure its in the OPA rule book what the purses are for each race?
