I asked him the question on Tuesday and he told me the following: After testing on Saturday, Mitch and Bob overlaid their depth chart on their GPS backtrack. This as a result of the unsettling effects of the loss of a Driver on Friday. Due to their personal concerns, they chose to withdraw.

There is no blame to be placed on anyone, this was a personal choice. I respect their decision.

As to another post in this area: Is there anyone who competed, and placed in St. Cloud (The first race under the new ownership of APBA Offshore) that did not receive their prize money or checkered flag? I didn't think so.

Man o man, when will the BS stop and each racer just race wherever they like? Or shall we just continue to destroy the sport from within???

Steve !

I knew that !I spoke to Bob on Saturday , prior to the race and expressed my concerns ,but understood and respect his decision whether he raced or not!

And by the way there was no BS intended on my part!

A true test of a persons character is how they react when times are tough. Bob has shown time and time again that despite the crap he has put up with, some of clearly legally actionable, he is taking the high road for the betterment of the sport. Some people on the forums should follow his lead........

Frank, I am not ready, hopefully Marathon than Sarasota, but with the way things look, I will be kicking off in Sarasota in July. Too many B-Days and Weddings to attend to in the next months. I am also saving my $ a little because I plan on running NY and Pt Pleasant so I am really in no rush

I missed talking to Bob in Biloxi. Sorry if I was the BS in question. I was in the chopper all day and then my flight left at 6pm so I didn't get to talk to anyone after the race. I really wanted to meet Bob, I guess that will have to wait until Marathon.

God knows this is a dangerous sport. If he didn't like something, he's completely within his right to withdraw, regardless of the reason. From the air I could see the boat was still wrapped up on the trailer.

Frankly I thought he showed a ton of class showing up and I'd hope to see OSS boats attend some APBA events.

I'd really like to see some jointly sanctioned events. Bob definitly made the first move and it was a good one.

I believe this may be the BS.

Follow Bob's and Steve's lead race where you want, have fun and be safe doing it. No need to be an ass about it.

I have learned to expect very little...........but the spotlight is on and it is bright.

If the OSS is really dedicated to "further development and growth of offshore powerboat racing in North America" then the board members (racers) would answer my (and your) question.

Offshore fans and racers.........you deserve an honest answer.
