I got goose bumps just reading that list....I remember every boat and race, we have been there every year since '94, this is GREAT NEWS for offshore racing, hope we can stay together! Steve, You know :D Did someone say: Scooter World Championships? :) :) :) GB |

Love those pics. Didn't Spirit of Texas become Dragon Lady?
Also, do you remember Scatterbrain spinning out in front of the Mole pier..... all of a sudden facing the oncoming fleet .......until they finally gathered themselves up and headed back in the right direction? It's going to be AWSOME this year!!! Thanks to all of the people involved in putting this thing together for this year! :drink: :) :D |

Phantom1. YOU ROCK! You are the Trivia King of photos and knowledge of offshore racing! You are amazing with your facts and Pict's. You should be writing for Extreme boats with Ron P. Keep posting the old Pict's and facts!
I must admit it has been hard to pursue sponsors this year with all the political BS that has been going on. I don't pick sides, I just want to race and have a solid schedule, since almost every penny of my racing comes from sponsors. I have not worked that hard this year for sponsorship because of the uncertainly. After this weekend in Sarasota,with APBA and SBI working together. This has been the best race I have been to since 2000 my first. I was amazed by the crowds at the parade, the fans in the pits and on the beach, all the great parties, and most of all, SBI and APBA getting together. I bring my teammate Sarah Donohue over from UK. Sarah has been over before for some races, but nothing to leave a great impact on her. Sarah has been racing all over Europe, and the middle east. This time when Sarah came to Sarasota, it left an impact. We both had a great time. Both SBI, APBA, Sarasota, the Fans, Extreme boats, Press, our sponsor, and the Reindl crew for working so hard to make this all happen, made this the best race yet! I am so excited, l just like when I first started, I have been on the phone and E-mails, to get sponsors fro the rest of the year. Because of Sarasota the believe and passion are back in our sport. Sarah will be writing for Sports Boat mag, and will spread the news on how racing has made a great comeback in the US. Lets keep up the good work, and Key West will be the best Worlds Yet!!!! BG XO |
