Default Washington, NC Race

I am curious where everyone made their room reservations considering the minimal number of rooms in Washington.

I am booked in Greenville, NC about 19 miles west of Reggieville.

Greenville and Williamston are the closest alternatives to Washington. Greenville has more restaurant and lodging options. East Carolina University is there.

There's a Hampton Inn in Washington as well. Phantom is right though, the rooms are limited.

Washington, NC has taken its toll on a variety of race teams. It's a different place. Crab traps in the milling area, narrow river, etc. I rolled in with the race boat in 1999 and broke a camshaft Friday testing. In 2000, we picked up a crab trap in the milling area and had to be towed back to the pits.
Absolutely great atmosphere though - you will have fun!

Pictures are:

Cat Can Do after blowing over in the Kilo run
Twisted Styx after rolling during testing
Ocean Spray after "plucking" a crab trap out of the river

Reggie rolls out the red carpet like no other.......and talk about being welcomed in the town - unbelievable. Fountain is the largest employer in this quiet little town. They love the boaters and the racers.

You will not find a friendlier place - genuine Southern Hospitality! It's gonna be fun!

I'll drive in sunday for the race, live only 100 miles away. Will be at whichard beach starting line for the race (on shore). Nice place, no coolers though. Beer on premises.
