OK...Here goes.
-Flat Water.... 74-75.
-1-3' chop..... 76-78.5

-Thats it. Flat water the hull just wont break loose. Rpm's can go up...but with no speed increase. The 24 just needs the chop to air her out & get her max speed. Guess its true that even rigged with twins you rarely hear of one doing 80GPS.
-Bash will say that the boat is a pleasure to steer under all conditions. Not a hint of chine walking. It will go full speed into most conditions the bay has...with the exception of East of the Bridge on a really big bad day....when 21's & 22's would stay home.
-Bash has done everything that can be done :o .

Isn't the 24 a lesser degree?

I never thought I had a bow lift problem. With a 4 blade, my boat doesn't take any more than about neutral trim. Looking at a pic of me on plane, the bow seems high enough even at slow speeds.

Dave,
I see your boat has a good attitude. I would be satisfied with it also.

Bash,
Airiation will most likely loosen up any boat. Agreed? Lets do intake and head mods, that should get ya a few mph.

Tom,
Yes, the 24' pad has less of a degree on the pad. I haven't seen it in the mold yet. It's upside down in the yard. I looked at the pics of Bashes pad. Looks like it could be less then 21 degree. The Y2K is 24 degree, same as the hull. The 24 pad should give it more lift. I would love to take the steps out of the Y2K mold and redo them, making 2 steps with a pad (around 21 degree). But we have to wait for some down time to get involved in that. It's a pretty big project. And lord knows we have enough projects going on in the shop right mow.

Rick

FX & FASTER
What do you guys think just for experimental a wider pad on my 24??? Maybe bond it on. It is granted ruff water will be sacrificed...but flat water she may ride on it. It could be made removable & ready to use on any given day!
Fx ...When can you get started???

Re: Steppbottom Bowlift

I think it would be interesting. Since you already have somewhat of a pad there I'm not sure if you will get what your looking for.

Re: Steppbottom Bowlift

Gene,
If I''m not mistaken, It was tried before. Too much lift made the hull want to fall on it''s side.
