Re: Steppbottom Bowlift
i know the problem, im right there with ya. the 300's off and the 26"swimplatform setback is going on, i got my fingers crossed, its got to get that bow fly'in! where is your prop shaft at 18"? i think a good starting point would be at 2" below at 26" whatda ya think?

Re: Steppbottom Bowlift
The boat is easier to get max speed in big chop than flat. Reason being it naturally provides lift & therefore takes less trim. 18" setback has no negative effect. The calm water is the real issue. Flat water is sticky. As ZZup said...the step was designed for "less trim more speed". However...the only thing I see is less speed because of less bowlift & now have to use full trim to break it away from the water. The step fights against the trim button. The step says "NO. I am NOT DESIGNED TO LIFT"...but the rest of the hull says..."I am Getting Blown away by 24 Progressions & Kryptonites" "LIFT YOU BIATCH"!!!
Once its up...the hull continues to accelerate until the rev limit kicks in or the prop breaks the surface ( which Bash learned the hard way ) -Todays project may be to trim the top of my setback bracket just enuff so I can lower my motor(3/4") to the last bolt hole. This will take me from 2 3/4" centerline to approx. 3 1/2" below. This may provide more leverage...more lift....more speed ...more....more..... |
Re: Steppbottom Bowlift
Gene could you need the special biueprinted bottom with the ROCKER to get the LIFT IN THE CALM STUFF ??????

Re: Steppbottom Bowlift
You're the guinea pig on that one SuperG :hammy: ! We'll see how that works. I dont think anything bad could happen. Remember...Rocker designed to Lift...... Step designed not to lift. (Honestly...Bash dont know what the F is gonna happen  )
