Question bottom blueprinting

What's the story w/bottom blueprinting? I'm working on my 1980 24'...I just had the bottom stripped by No-Chem paint stripping - they took off about 4 layers of antifouling paint...came out real nice and bottom is in great shape. I want to apply a "barrier coat" but I was wondering if this (blueprinting) is something I should do first? If so how much $? Does Superboat do it at the shop? Is it worth it? How is it done? Any other details are appreciated.
Regards, TJP

if you are not keeping the boat in the water i wouldent barrier coat it.if the finsih is good on it leave it alone,as far as blue printing you want to get the last 6' stright you do this by using a stright edge.fill in the low spot remove any high spot's
good luck jim
ps if you dont want to do it youself i can get someone to do it

Hey Guys,

I think the bottoms are pretty good out of the box. I don't know about the older ones but my '98 has nice lines. The guy who works on my boat was commenting on how sharp the edges where and about the "trick" bottom. Based on the speeds I am getting, it can't get much better.

Anybody going to the AC boat show? I will be there Friday.

TJP- does your boat have the separate dash that is bolted in? I'm looking for the dimensions to build a close copy for my newest project.
JimH- is Fast Eddie's F1-68? 30' Y2K model? I saw this number with "SuperBoat" on the side of a 30' Superboat Y2K headin' east on I-195 this afternoon. I was goin the other way towing my latest "aquisition".

David, may I guess that you bought Sharkey's 24. He did say that the new owner is from Delaware. Good Luck with your project as I am looking for my next one.
