If you do the surface drive you need to remove the notch in the transom according to rick from arneson. And your adding a tranny so your going to need extra power for that also. Props are only about 6 times the price of a bravo.

Plus I think you would loose leverage by running on the surface, loosing bow lift. I think the "joint" would be 1 large motor, and imco splitter into 2 trannys and 2 arneson drives tucked real close together

Gear splitter into 2 bravos would be fine. You could run them close like a stagger setup. Does anybody have any idea how much a gear splitter would be? Im sure if Rick called IMCO every new Y2K would have one. HINT HINT

That Imco gear splitter looks awsome. I wish I had read about this product before the hole was cut in my new boat...
It takes the torque of any engine and divides it between two drives. What a great idea!!! Plus you save the weight of the second engine and still have the manuverability with the second drive.
Can't wait to see someone else besides Nordic use it now!!!

I have a 6 point motor mount now. Motor front and rear, also rear tranny mount. I cant even begin to guess how much. If I remember they compared it to a number 6 drive package using a drysump splitter 2 extention boxes with 2 shorty drives. I think JC,S boat would be a great demo. Have Rick do it and dont tell John, what do you think?

But a 496HO will not be enough power to push the newest Y2k. Remember it cuts the torque and the HP in half. Half of 400hp or so is no better than 2 egg beaters. And cheaper too!!
