This from Rich Owen,

"The CT River Run will be held on Oct22 .

We'll try again ! "

The rain has stopped finally...
Now I get to vacuum up the water in my basement...
I hope to be on the water Tuesday night to check things out...
I hope most of us can make the new date...

The river is still vary high...
It should be good by the weekend though...

FOR THE CONNECTICUT RIVER AT HARTFORD... THE 915 PM MONDAY STAGE WAS 20.4 FEET. FLOOD STAGE IS 16.0 FEET. THE RIVER HAS CRESTED BUT IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN FLOOD THROUGH TOMORROW. AT STAGES NEAR 20.0 FEET...FLOODING IS EXPECTED ALONG THE RIVER IN PORTIONS OF WETHERSFIELD...GLASTONBURY... ROCKY HILL AND CROMWELL. THE HIGH WATERS AND SWIFT FLOWS WILL DISRUPT SOME CROSS RIVER FERRY SERVICES. UPSTREAM OF HARTFORD...FLOODING WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT PORTIONS OF WINDSOR. IMMEDIATE RIVER ROADS MAY BECOME IMPASSABLE IN ALL OF THESE COMMUNITIES.

FOR THE CONNECTICUT RIVER AT MIDDLETOWN... THE 8 PM MONDAY STAGE WAS 12.2 FEET. FLOOD STAGE IS 8.0 FEET. THE RIVER HAS CRESTED BUT IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN IN FLOOD THROUGH TOMORROW. AT STAGES NEAR 12.0 FEET...FLOODING CONTINUES TO OVERSPREAD SECTIONS OF PORTLAND AND MIDDLETOWN...AS WELL AS DOWNSTREAM TOWNS INCLUDING CHESTER AND ESSEX. SOME IMMEDIATE RIVER ROADS WILL BE IMPASSABLE. IN CROMWELL THIS USUALLY IMPACTS PORTIONS OF RIVER ROAD. IN ROCKY HILL... PORTIONS OF MEADOW ROAD WILL BECOME IMPASSABLE.

I stopped down to the marina last night to clean up my boat. Funny how spilled beer can make everything so moldy...

NOT GOOD NEWS!

This from Rich Owen,
"This sucks !
We are going to postpone yet again . Oct 29 is the new date .
The river is not receding as quickly as usual . After 9 days of rain (record amounts) all areas around the river and it's tributaries are saturated . There's no way the river will be hospitable by Sat the 22nd . We don't want to risk injury to people or equipment . There's still trees (and pumpkins) floating down the river today . If you have already told me you're coming and find you can't make the new date please let me know."

Sorry, but we'll have to wait another week...

Chris you're depressing me...
"mediocre season?"
"winter?"
Come On Now, The Summer was GREAT!
Winter means Skiing!

Anyway, I can wait another week to winterize and the wife gave me clearance.
So I'm still going to make it...
Anyone else?
