To my knowledge, there has never been a 30' Super built with twin big blocks; they will not fit side by side.
There were a few 30' Tempest race boat built with twin small blocks and they were just about unbeatable back in the day. Only 1 y2k built with twin i/o and from what I have heard, it sit real low in the water. I believe the 30' Super is best powered by a single big block i/o... |

Semper Fi, all the Y2K'S have been built ( 20 ) as of 2000 with a big block single, except hull # 15 a pair of 6.2 320 HP. There was talk of a staggered 496 HO ( John JR. ) but not as of yet. If you can get a ride on FASTERS, you will for sure want one !!!!! :evilb:

Talked with JC today about $ on a Y2K with twin small blocks. Ballpark is 130 k ( still 15 K less then an 29 Activator with a 525 !! LOL ). Put a pair of Zul smallblocks in, and you'll have an animal. RC Marine, which was a 30 Superboat with twin smallblocks was world champion like 3 times, I might be mistaken, it might be more. That boat was inducted into the APBA Hall of Fame. Rick |

Have Jc Performance build you a 600+ hp big block and run low 80s all day long........, and be well under $100,000! Add a blower, like me :D , and be in the low 90s!!!!

Hey Guys, I also saw the new 24 for sale on this site. I'm curious why he's looking for 59k :eek: with a 225hp Merc OB when the SB site advertises with a 300HP IO for 46k and change. FX10, is there something more to it then the pictures show?
If I bought that boat looking for speed with a OB, I think I would have bolted a OptiMax 300XS on that puppy. :evilb: |
