Hydromotive P5

Got the drive spacer installed, and heavier prop shaft/gear set (now I have an XZ"). The wind was blowing like 30 mph the day I tried to do test runs, so I couldn't get good speed numbers yet.
The handling of my boat was drastically improved, and some friends said the nose was being much better carried (less hull in the water at speed). Best I could tell at mid range I picked up 2-4 mph, but may not have gained at the top end - getting airborne in 30+mph winds above 70 mph gets real interesting in a lightweight Y2K!!!!! WOW!!!
Also lost ~150-200 rpm off top end, hitting WOT just under 5000 on the Bravo I 26P non labbed prop - that's something for BBlades to figure out. I hope to report some better comparitve numbers next day out, then call the prop gurus.

No sweat, this is fun tinkering. I'm going to re-try my buddies Hydromotive five blade PX5 round ear 26P again next week or two and see how it does - Tom what are you tweaking these days on the Y2K?

Sounds like you're have lots of fun tinkering!
Just a bit of info for you:
Reading Ray @ Raylar threads and posts on the 425HP/496HO, dyno testing shows the engine makes peek horsepower at 4900rpm. He says the power drops off after 4900 because the intake and throttle body won't flow enough.
Something to consider when you have your prop labbed.
Have Fun!
