Ok we know Rob is going to have a azz kicking twin small block Y2K that runs at 100 mph !!!!! But I still like that big single monster !!! So the question is, what amount of HP do we need to run the SUPER K at 100 + !!!!

Well Faster has hit 94 with 801HP and is still dialing in.
My guess is that a 900HP single or twin 500HP to crack 100mph.
Now which out-drive are you going to use with 900HP?

No doubt we can make big HP for tripple digits !!!!! But the drive becomes the issue, I was hoping for the mini 6 but thats not gonna happen. So what are my choices for say 900/1000 hp ????

Arneson. Bravo1 XR if you go easie. #3 #5 the only problem is that you will need trainies which could throw off your balence.

Stormrider. It was. A few years back MRD built a 850 HP for a Y2K, first run was 104. It was brought back to the dock and put on the trailer. It was to go in a boating magazine. It was trailered to Florida, put in the water, started up and ideling. 4 minutes later it sucked a valve.

We got the Literature for Merc Racing Saturday announcing the 700. It stated that the drive will not be sold seperately, only in the package

700hp in this boat can go w/ an Imco extreme SC, but won't hit that 100 mark, so the drive is worthless.

From what I found your options are as follows:

1) ssm 3a
2) Konrad
3) IMCO 1000
4) Max Machine
5) B-max

The 3a will be a problem to fit with the tranny unless someone is making an extension box that will fit the trans? The Imco seems to have a 50/50 approval rating with the guys who have used them. I have no idea about the B-max. The Konrad is said to be good to a 1000hp, anyone run one up there yet? I personally talked to MMW and they said 1000hp is doable but the merc gears are the weak link and there gears aren't out yet.
As for HP for 100 you need 860hp using Fasters numbers for reference. I bet if you dialed everything in and found the right prop, right lower, right over all X then you could hit 100 w/ 800hp. But for the money a 800 cost you can have 900 or a 1000 just as easy and not be worried your short on power.

You wont break an XR with 500 hp unless your leapin in and out of the water like a race boat. Showtime had 525s and they were poppin drives left and right but you should be fine.

I would think the Konrad would throw the balance off with the weight of the tranny off the back of the transom?

You need to talk to Mike about the setup if you're going with a Speedmaster. He has done lots of testing and comparison to Zul's boat that also has a Speedmaster. PM Zuperboat, and get Mike on the phone; he can help you deside which drive. You may want a #5 not a #3...

The Zuperboat ran 85mph with a 500+HP/540, Imco box and short Imco/Bravo drive...
She now runs 80 or so with 600+HP/540 and Speedmaster, but the right prop has yet to be found...

Rich Zul's 30' Tempest does run over 100mph with 900-1000HP as reported by many on this forum...

Rob, yes we are all probably a little disappointed that you scrapped the twins but IMO you're make the right call... :drink:

Neither the Speedy #3-5 or a Konrad are rated for 1000HP.

Ok The Stagger Is Out. Understandable. No One Wants To Be First On Something That Who Knows How Its Gpoing To Turn Out. Let Jc Use The Bacari Special For A Test. But How About The Gear Splitter . One Motor 2 Drives ?
