Computer- accel so yes it is injection with enderle stacks.

What did it start out as, a Merc496? I have a HP3 496 and was wondering what I could do with it, will a carb and intake fit on it and are the headers the same bolt pattern as a Gen 5 block. I havnt been able to find any parts for it if I wanted to remove the fuelinjection.

Eddie the the new GM 496 engines including the HP3 are not good candidates for more than 600HP without new internals. And I don't believe you can convert to a carb either; remember distributer-less ignition, coil packs for each cylinder, you need the computer controls.
If you still have your HP500EFI, that is the engine to boost; and I do mean that literally. Lots of supercharger packages to bolt on that baby to make 750+HP... :drink:
