No worries. Yea, I know someone in Charlotte. hope I never see it, unless I am buying it. :drink: You are going to have one nice house. We are doing the samething, but just the inside. Not sure I have the stomach for what you are doing. We do as much ourselves, adn gringe when others come in to do work -- just want it done right, etc., and it is stressful when it looks like it is not going right. Good luck to ya, and thanks for the feedback.

Dave read the information paperwork that came with your GPS, they are build all over and it will say you gps usally is calibrated to where it was mfg, CA is a much higher elevation that South Shore of NY, it will alter the MPH of your GPS. I have seen a few MPH diffrence in GPS to other GPS. My friend in dash GPS is 3.5 MPH diffrence to mine, which I calibrated he did not calibrate his. (( Radar even needs to be calibrated after it is used evey time ask any Police officer, they need to keep records of calibration after each use thats how lawyers beat speeding tickets, and lawyers beat speeding tickets when police pace you and issue tickets to cars speedometer, because there is a 10MPH correctulium, meaning car speedometers are sometimes off by 5-10 MPH.

Superbash has a 2004 or 2005 24' Superboat outboard model.
With a 250HP Merc and 18" set back she ran a best of 71mph GPS. And with a 330X, 78mph GPS... :D
OH-Zone had an early 2000s 24' Superboat outboard with a 300X on a jackplate.
His boat ran in the neighborhood of 75mph GPS... :D

This boat you are listing must have other issues...

Pat, all due repect maybe they do go that fast. A met someone from OSO last year in the GSB he had a upper 90's 24' with a 250EFI and a 12" setback. He said he did 68/69 all day long. I ran with him and later jumped into his boat on my GPS he was doing 64 MPH, his in dash gps bouced from 68/69 MPH... who was right ? ( Note he was on a 1/8 tank gas and solo ) I have a doz stories like that, recently a 25' Checkmate with a 502 guy said he was doing 70 mph, checked on my gps it was doing 63mph, guys spedo was way off. ( We will never know exactly boat are tempermental, who ran on fumes they day they hit 70 with the wind at there back and water current and white caps flowing exactly they way they want, but run 66 all other times. I respect what everyone says, but only believe what I see on my GPS.

I here you; some people add 5mph to their numbers and some don't understand GPS vs. Speedo...
Here in the CT River the GPS can read as much as 6mph different travelling north vs. south with the speedo reading the same either way...
Personally I do believe most of the guys that post here in the Superboat forum.
Anytime you would like to check you calibrated GPS vs. mine, come on up to CT. I can guaranty you that my boat goes a whole lot faster than 66... :drink:

Pat, I am not questioning you at all I hope you don't think I was doing that ! ( My debate was spedos vs GPS and people who make up MPH ) There was a 24' superboat recently with twinn 200's on OSO guy said it did 70's in fact it could not break 70 on it's best day. GPS in my pocket it did 64/65 one time it hit 66 with twinn 200 Merc's guy still swore we were going 70 ?

why not just time the run between two markers, measure the distance between them on the chart, and do the math. Thats an accurate way to measure speed.

Re: Anyone familiar with this 24

That way big years ago at the nautical mile, the points were maked off from Zacks bay to Tobay beach in the GSB who remembers that from the 80's. I seen this 24' Superboat, it is located in Hewlett clean, motor needs to be raised, and a diffrent prop guy may take $7000 I think it's a good deal. Motor is strong. boat may turn mid 60's + if you change the prop and raise the motor. I think the 74,75,76 superboat were much lighter than the later ones, this seams to be thin on the glass like other early 70's supers I seen over the years.
