Re: Week Nights on the CT River
Test Days Are Numbered. Run Both Props Same Day. The Weather Is Getting Very Favorable To Better Top End Numbers. Mine Have Gone Up And Has Something To Due With The Colder Weather.

I've actually gotten quite good at changing props dangling from my swim platform... Last year, just before I dragged her home, I went for one last ride. It was under 50°F, only fumes in the tank, no mufflers, and just me in the boat. She ran 78... :D Let's see if I can better that this year... :evilb: |
Re: Week Nights on the CT River
Hey Pat,
I was able to really wring her out today. We saw 72.0 on the gps and the tach was just under 5000 rpm, so I'm going to say 4950 ish. I'm starting to think I may not need to change my prop. It does have a few nicks and scrapes, so I am going to have it cleaned up. Maybe that will give my 50 rpm. In any event, I think it is probably doing what it is supposed to do. How's your prop testing going? |

We had 2 on board and 1/2 tank of gas. First we ran with a Turbo Fusion 4, 14.5" dia. X 27p. Then my labbed 15.25" dia. X 28p Bravo 1. My boat handled vary well with the Turbo, the hole shot was excellent and the prop never broke free in corners. Top speeds were 73.6mph running north and 74.1 running south @ 4800rpm. The labbed Bravo 1 was faster on top, 75.3mph running north and 76.1 south @ 4900rpm. With the Bravo 1 the boat seem to run a bit higher in the water when I trimmed up in calm water. The Turbo felt a little more stable navigating through the 3-4ft confused water we experienced in traffic. I'll be sticking with my labbed B1 because it is a little faster, probably because it is "labbed"... |
I thought I'd drag up this old thread as my week night river runs have begun...:D
Hey O-Zone, Are you ready for some more prop testing? I've got a ø14.5" X 28p 4 blade and a ø14.5 X 27p 3 blade to run... It would be great to hook up with you, T-Mone, and anyone else that wants to enjoy cruising the CT River... I plan to run every Tuesday the weather is good...:drink: |

Fridays are a little more difficult for me these days with two kids. My wife works until 6pm on most Fridays...:( I do have Friday afternoon, July 13th marked for a Claudio's mission though...:evilb: Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays are my typical boating days. I'll give you a shout after the long weekend. Maybe we can hook up for a late afternoon run Sunday June 3rd. My wife and kids are headed to LI...:D |
After a couple of weeks out of action to make some repairs, my boat is again seaworthy...
Anyone want to come out and play?:drink: |
Pat, Wish I could but the boat went up north for the summer last weekend. I would like to run with you some time.
I finally splashed for the first time this year. Boat ran perfect, the new hydraulic steering made a HUGE difference in the boat stability. Thanks for you help... |
