I'm sure there will be a couple of 22' or 24' outboard Progressions by trailer.
How about the Activators? Outboards, I'm sure, But I/Os?

Going up you should be fine but you, guys will hit a ton of traffic on 95 on the way back. That is why I said you guys should trailer out to Greenport( east end of LI) only about a 15 minute trip accross the sound. Why drive?

As for the gas I put some more boost in the boat so I wanted to be safe..

You can read between the lines I guess...... Not sure if it is going to happen though with the drive spacer as low as it is. Did not have time today though to pull it out. But it did turn a respectable number with 3 people in the boat and 100 gallons of fuel....

I gave my boat a bath yesterday. She is probably not up to Dave M's standards but at least the sand and mud are out and the scum line off...
The slow boat is ready to rumble... :D

For the guys coming across the sound, let's hope it lays down for you by morning, because it's going to kick up something fierce this afternoon and tonight...

Titan,
If you can do Greenport to Old Saybrook in 15 minutes, that would have to be some sort of a record. Even the triple digit 40 footers took a bit longer than that during the July Poker Run... :snide:
The best I have done crossing the Sound is just under 12min from the light house at Orient to the light house at the break water in Old Saybrook... :D

Anyway, eveyone please have a safe trip whether you're coming by land or by sea...
I'll be at the ramp under I-95 by 8:30... :drink:

Pat

You are correct. 15 minutes is hard to attain. I was being fecious. My point was meant to be taken that the trip from Nassau County by car to Old Saybrook will take a lot longer than trailering to Greenport and Coming accross by water..

, Hope it does lay down though. They are talking heavy winds tonite....

I know what your saying, I am sometimes a bit too literal...
Zuperboat had the same thoughts as you last year.
I believe he and JCap are thinking they would rather an extra hour in a warm truck sipping a coffee vs. battling through 3-4 footers in 40s temps.
Have a safe trip, and we'll see you on our side around 9am. The warm sun and calm water of the river will help dry you out... :drink:

Well guys it was a lot of fun today. I had one of the best times all summer today. The river had some really nice scenery. Too bad all you Superboaters from Long Island did not brave treacherous sound. Going up the Activator and Myself braved 3 to 4 ft seas. But on the way home man did it Kick Up. There was easily 8 footers going home with an Occasional 10 footer. Next time Maybe you guys will come out and play in the Big Boy Waters........... :D

Titan and JC, you guys should have stuck around. I guess you didnt, knowing the sea build in the sound. We were out last weekend and the weather was the same. BIG seas in the sound. It was a great turn out and was a blast. These guys with the little boats are crazy!!!!! It was great to meet and see everyone. Here are the pics I took.

I had a lot of fun yesterday. Thanks for taking pics of my boat. We did have a good time running up he river with you as well. Now I just need my driver Joe to get a little more seat time in the boat. He was a little rusty but did a good job for getting thrown in there at the last minute........ :D

I am sure Joe or ExShipdude will chime in here eventually..

Good Morning Gary,
We did have a great time! :D
About 10 boats launched in Old Saybrook including (3) 30' Supers, (2) Panteras, a Hawk Marine, a Sutphin, and...
Titan and is Activator buddy met us at the ramp after crossing the Sound.
We had a rather auspicious start to our venture north, with a couple of fellows getting tossed from there 22' Activator after jumping a cruiser wake. There were quickly rescued by the group and we'll leave it at that for now.
Unfortunately, I had to bring my camera guy back to the dock shortly after we had started. Something about a 40 footer had sunk at Essex Island Marina...
T-Mone hung back for me and we caught back up to the group in Haddam. It pays to know what buoys you can cut... :D
The Scream & Fly guys had begun to launch and we ran north to the beach in Portland for the gathering.
There were lots of photos taken for sure. Thanks Dan for getting yours posted...
I'll post a blow by blow of the second half a little later.
