I was talking to my buddy who lives out there in Southold. He had a good suggestion to leave from the Ramp on the North road in Mattituck. THis way when we come out in the Sound it is basically straight accross. What do you think?

Not a bad idea, but Mattituck is 5-7miles farther than Greenport to the River.
Another suggestion I have for you is to launch at Orient point.
From Orient point to the month of the CT River is only about 12miles.
There is a boat launch at Orient-by-the-Sea...

Thats not a bad idea either.. But the launch in Greenport is really good. Either way it is only a couple mins from Greenport to Orient point. Can't wait hope the weather stays good.....
