There are a few discrepencies in the article, such as them saying the Y2K only has a single step, and that the windscreens are acrylic, when they're fiberglass.
And obviously the test driver didn't trim the drive up for the test. Because they show a top speed of 70 @ 4900rpm and not 74 @ 5300, which it ran when we tested it..
Also, the boat is as "Bare Bones" as your wallet allows. If you want a maxed out offshore cabin, complete with sink, counter and ice box, you got it.
The last Y2K with a maxed out cabin belongs to Don (donY2K) complete with a fully carpeted interior. Reeeeal nice.
I found the pic of the original dash. if you zoom the pic, you can see they are Merc guages. I'll find the wiring too.

I found the wiring

That's a local boat on the cover. He actually has hit 165 with it. I guess the boys testing for Powerboat don't have the nads he has.

Nice to see Superboat article in a magizine, I have been a long time subscriber to most of the mag's and I wish they would review Superboats more. I am not sure if John.C has anything to do with very rarely seeing superboat ever mentioned. John should get out there more and show his face and the face of the Y2k if he or anyone wants more reviews and sales. I know Superboats is small co, but I am personally getting tired of reading about the same old top 10 boats.
