Spoke to JC again today and tried to convince him (LOL) that if he was to just get all the parts for my Y2K that are all over the shop and put them together how he would have so much more room in there.... Sounds good to me... Think it will work... I didnt think so...Well theres always tommorrow to try a new tactic... The benifits of living down the road from Superboat...

Any input on this prop fot the Y2K

Nice prop, Gary Superbaby, didn't you try one of those ?? As with "Dialing In" it takes alot of props. Gary probably went through 20, with the help of Typhoon. They got him dialed in to the tenth.

John, the 5 blade maximus is a great prop, we tried as Rick said over 20 props between Merc. Racing and Typhoon, the best so far for my motor/drive/hull was the 27" 5 blade maximus that was just reblueprinted by Merc. racing with great results. Also the Y2k does like the 4 blade bravo prop. You really need to try as many props as possible to find the best for your setup. some will give you great cruise midrange, others big top end numbers. I did get lucky when my boat/motor was put together, Merc. Racing came to Superboat with BIG BOX full of every prop ( MERC. ) they make. Good luck :D

I dont have the money or a good prop. contact right now to just keep trying different props. so Im trying to narrow it down. I was going to take a shot at the maximus (pitch???) and also the 4 blade bravo which was fine on my 27 Progression but with the steps and the lenght of the boat kinda think more grab with the 5 blade??? I know JC has some opinions too like trying a 3 blade...Your successes with the 27" 5 blade merc finished just confirms my theory though

Prop did you say prop. Throttle Up has a new Barracuda thats looks interesting. I think they also have a test program.

I find testing props to be a lot of fun and I continue to try any and all I can get my hands on.
There is a wealth of knowledge on this board when it comes to this subject.
Personally, I have done two rounds of testing with Oh-Zone and his Y2K.
The Bravo One 4 blade is a great prop for all kinds of boats right out of the box and is probably the best place to start.
If you are willing to spend the $$ for a 5 blade, the Hydro P5-X is one that may also work well right out of the box.
From reading about the Maximus, I'd say that modifications to the diameter would likely be necessary to yield good top end numbers.
No 3 blade props on a Y2k.
