Just spent awhile searching. Looking for info on the 21 I/O. Anyone have one with the 6.2/ Bravo combo? How about the (optional?) cabin?
Just researching at the moment, but it looks like Superboat is the way I want to go. Looking for something that performs really well but is economical to operate. The ability to sleep two and a porta-potti are also on my list of wants.
I'm not going to spend a lot of time on big/ rough water, but I want something that is capable of handling it.
Any idea of what a 21 equipped like this will cost?
Thanks...

I dont want to jack your thread, but you may want to consider the Sutphen. Richie Jr. makes the 20 with the 6.2 bravo combo. He may have this demo available. Nobody puts a porta potti in this type of boat.

Hmmm...
Sounds like the 24 is going to be a better choice then. I want something that I can spend a weekend on without the Ol' Lady getting too fussy.
Don't want something too big, and the narrow beam and lightweight construction compared to other boats will definately make transport easier.
This will be my first boat, and while I've spent a fair amount of time on the water in other people's boats, I don't have much experience with Speedboats of this nature. Any options or features you guys consider mandatory? Power will probably be a 5.7 or 6.2 with a Bravo drive. I've considered a 496 Mag, but I'd like to keep the price (and fuel consumption) to a minimum, I can always add power later.
It's going to be awhile before I purchase anything, but I want to do my research beforehand. Thanks again...

We love our 24 Super. It is our first boat as well. It is a 2000 24 Step bottom with a 454 Mag MPI.
For me, a 5.7 or 6.2 wouldn't do it cause I'm a speed freak! In all reality, that power would probably move the 24 pretty well and do respectably on mileage. We took the porta potty out because we don't want anybody going to the bathroom in our boat
I have been working on the wife to get her to agree to sleep on the boat this year. The one problem is that the boat has no hatches for venting or adding a cabinair ac unit. We ordered a free standing portable unit that has an exhaust hose that can be routed outside the cabin. I've attached a pic of it here. The wife said NO WAY unless we had some type of AC. Hopefully this will work. I haven't seen it yet. It is 9000 btu, so it will make popsicles of us!

Yeah, a 496 would be nice, but for the price difference I could build one hell of a small block.
Not sure how often we'll actually sleep on the boat, but I'd like the option to be there. Same for the Porta-potti. I'm willing to rough it, but when you're out on the water all day it's nice to have a place to get out of the sun/ rain/ etc., and going off the side or jumping in isn't always going to fly with the ladies.
The majority of the time the boat will probably be used for daytime fun at the lake or river, but I want to have the flexability there- I don't want to trade in my boat after a couple of seasons if I can avoid it.
Thanks for the replies...

If you are gonna go for a 24 I wood just step up to the 30...best deal out there right now and if you wanted to move up all you would have to do is repower it instead of replacing the boat....depending on where you are going to do your boating it is always nice to have the adding length of the boat to get you through the rough stuff
