Yup, Dave is right.
280 K-planes or the equivalent from Trick, Dana, and others.

I agree on everything said so far. Our avanti (similar to the SB) has old but tall bolsters. I am 6'1" and sitting there is a breewe but stading I get blasted.

IMO, the 24 is definitely a SIT-Down boat. I have the bolsters in mine and NEVER stand. I'm 5'10" and sitting or standing, the wind is tough in a 24.

Speed wise.....the 375HP will get you 75 only on the best days. I had a 454 Mag (385) and I saw 75 once. The norm was 73-74. Now I have a 496HO and have seen 80 once or twice, 77-78 is the norm.

I would bite the bullet and go with a FULL steering system. I started with an add-on, converting it to full made a HUGE difference. I'd recommend K-planes too.

I agree with the others about the offshore mount. I've been plagued with motor mount issues since I've owned my boat.

Kevin,
As we talked about, a no brainer. You would get bored with the mag. I will take care of ALL the details. I had a nice time talking with ya. Not to worry, your boat "Will" be one of a kind.

Some interesting comments on the MAG here.

Like I said if the money was there I would have done the same and gone with the HO. However Rick, I am not bored with the MAG. :D

Both the 496Mag and Mag HO are great power plants for a 24' Super.
To spite similar HP ratings, they do make a lot more power than the old 454Mag and 502Mag engines.
I'm on my 3rd year with a 502Mag and sure I would like to go faster, but...

Surely would make for a unique ride, but IMO not worth the $$ in a 24'.
These hulls seem to hit a wall at about 80mph and it takes a lot of power to push them beyond that.
Dave M's boat runs 78mph anyday of the week with a stock prop. If he sent his prop to BBlades for a little love, he'd see 80 no problem.
A 525 is only going to push the boat 82-84mph. Those headers would sure look nice though...:drink:
