Since my boating accident two weeks ago, I have received an overwhelming amount of phone calls, e-mails, and PMs from OSOers and Scream & Flyers alike.
Most people were checking in to see that we were OK and offering to assist in many ways. I have received lots of advice and continue to receive very good suggestions as to what to do with my wreck. Some of you may have seen my thread in the Tech. Q&A forum.

To update everyone, Bobby is doing well. He got the stitches out of his chin, his ankle has healed enough to go back to work, and he should be getting a permanent cap for his broken tooth this week. I’m just about all the way back, still have a bruze on my leg and a stiff neck, but the egg on my head and black eyes are all cleared.

As for the boat, it has been totaled and the insurance company has come down enough on the salvage value that I’ll be keeping it for parts.

More to come…;)

FX10 11-03-2007 03:43 PM

Pat,
Glad all worked out OK. And no one got seriously hurt. Thank god the insurance company came down on the salvage price. I''ve bought a few of them and fixed them over the years. I bet your motor package would push a Y2K along pretty good. ;) We have one in stock, Coen might be willing to make a deal. Hmmmmm.... Think of the possibilities. LOL

I have been asked a number of times if I would buy another Superboat. Yes, a 30' Superboat is a definite possibility, but not likely for the 2008 season. I will be in touch with Mr. Coen.
See you at Superfest Rick...:ernaehrung004:

i wanted to try to shoe-horn your motor/drive (along with a matched one) into the sutphen...think of that wacky set up!
best of luck, and, as always, give a ring if you need a hand with anything....

Yes, everything does seem to be working out just fine.
Opportunities, I hope so; I am in no rush to buy another boat, so shopping will be fun.
Thanks T.

G., for me to buy a new boat/hull anytime in the not so distant future, it would have to be the deal of the century.
You and I have already talked about a deal that I have been offered from one manufacturer. I also talked to another builder in Rhode Island this past week. We have a long winter ahead to rap about all kinds of stuff…

cuposterchild 11-05-2007 09:07 AM

Pat,

I posted this in your salvage thread...but if you need any help on the dismantling process let me know. I tend to work cheap if it revolves around boats! :D

Pat, As always, when I head down your way, I'll give you a call and your always welcome aboard. I just took mine down to winterize, take out the drive spacer, and install a drive shower. Happy hunting...for a new boat. I told ya there was a 30 Y2K available... Maybe JC would consider a lay-away deal...Hmmmm no Joke...;)

Superbabi 11-05-2007 02:20 PM

Hi Gary,
Thanks! I'm likely to be taking a lot of you guys up on your ride offers.
Let me know when you come down this way again. Maybe you want to stop by and see the wreck.
Talk to ya,

I think Rob's boat has the Konrad drive gimble installed.

FX10 11-06-2007 06:46 PM

Nothing installed yet.

OK Guys...
So no hole cut in the transom?
Is the boat for sale?
If yes, please PM me his phone number.
I'll call Rob, what do I have to loose?
Maybe he'll make me the deal of the century...:D

I have spent some time pulling parts off my wreck that have been sold. Interior is sold to a guy restoring a 24' Cig and some parts have been shipped.
The aluminum vent covers, cabin door, and hatch went to fellow Superboater Cuposterchild.
I though my props were sold but I never received the $$, oh well.
I'm also, prepairing to pull the engine and gimble in the next week or 2.
A couple of shots as she comes apart.

FX10 11-23-2007 07:14 PM

Pat, how much did the insurance company give you for for the boat??

Pat McPherson 11-23-2007 07:23 PM

They gave me the total amount I had it insured for plus tax.

Yes Brian, I agree your 26' is a great deal.
My, wife is pushing for a bigger boat though.
Please shoot me a number for your 28' including interior.
Thanks,

Sorry Rick, I spoke with JC today, it's not likely to happen...

Our conversation went just fine...
I simply can not afford a Y2K at the price JC quoted me...

jayhawk261 11-23-2007 08:05 PM

It seems like the $60k Y2K doesn't really exist anymore. The initial price on the boat is low, but the upgrades add up REAL quick if I remember my conversations with JC correctly.

Superbabi 11-23-2007 08:22 PM

Pat best of luck on what ever choice you make on a boat decision, I hope its a Y2K:D !!!! I must say I think it is very tacky that another boat builder trys to sell there boat on another brands site............as I said TACKY.

Well the web sight says 62k but I think you'd end up well over 70k for the most basic model complete and ready for the water.

I was asking for a hull with interior and was a bit surprised by the $$ JC was talking.

The Superboat web page needs some updating, believe me.

FX10 11-23-2007 08:35 PM

The list of the Y2K, is 45K for the hull. (Thats what Dave paid for a his hull) Thats the bare bones. Oil prices dictate our prices. Just because a hull is stock, doesn't mean it can be had at an an insane price.. The price is the price. Coens like that. Maybe if you go under the table and do the naughty. ;) LOL
Each year you wait, the price will keep going up Pat.

THEJOKER 11-23-2007 08:38 PM

I didn't realize I was on Superboats forum , that is tacky. I just went to new posts and thought it was in GD. I'll delete it in a sec.

Thanks Gary.
A Y2k is not likely going to be our next boat but we're going to be back on the water in something I'm sure will be a nice upgrade from our last boat.
As for Joker be "Tacky" you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
I’m going to say this about Brian from Joker, he has been a whole lot more supportive of me than the owner of Superboat or any employee of Superboat for that matter. Sure he is trying to sell boats, but during the numerous e-mails and phone conversations we have had, he has not ever been pushy. I have not met Brian in person nor have I visited his factory, but I have spoken to a number of people that have. Joke is an up and coming manufacturer with a real good product…
