I can get a 300XS for 16K per motor. 3 of those is 48K same cost as (2) 350SCI. This would make the 34 run a lot faster because the XS's weighs in at 505lbs each with a total of 900HP at the props. I don't know what those speeds would be.

Thats a big boat to build !! Not like a Y2K. Wide and deap lots of glass !! Lots of man hours.

Do you know the Verado 350's will not be out till Oct.

yes, that's why if I get ancy this summer, I might drop down to Verado 300's...which has 6 years of warranty. A win-win situation.

Great news! Sounds like a great build...
Any chance that JC upgrades the steps in the mold similar to the current Y2K? THat would be a great update for that model line dont you think?

it would be nice but then that would delay my plans. I need the 34 built ASAP because I have a small window when I can take this trip that I am planning. That window is only 4 weeks long then the snow comes and then I would have to delay the trip till next year when I have that small window of opportunity again.

I am planning on taking the 34 on a long journey. From NJ to Maine to Newfoundland then to Greenland. From Greenland to Iceland. From Iceland to Faroe Islands then to Ireland and Portugal. Then to Spain and thru to Mediteranean Sea and beyond...

No this is not a joke, this is a serious trip that I am planning. Non of my family members will be invited, just buddies.

WOW, noli you plan to cross the BIG POND in a 34' ???

It's just all plans right now. But the 34 is being built for that trip. JC will build it with 350+ gallons. The cabin will not have a liner for weight savings. I will try to have redundant electronics like two Icoms, two Chart plotters...defintely twin engines. The Verado 300 is more likely at this point since the Verado 350 needs 91 octane all the time. The Verado 300 will run at 87 if needed. The engines theoretically will consume about 2 miles per gallon giving me a 600 mile range.

This will truly be for Offshore Only folks...
