Looking very nice Noli !!! When is she getting rigged ??? In the snow...........with no cover:eek:

I was thinking of these pair of engines. I know the speed demons will be outraged at this, but I need max MPG. The next owner will probably put twin 350 SCi. It will be ready for the 350's as all that will be needed are engine swaps. The SmartCraft and DTS will probably only need re-calibration.

I know the snow covered 34 is turning OFF some of you but there are no electronics nor an interior in the boat yet. Once those are put in, the 34 will be covered and baby'ed like all my toys are :)

The rigging schedule looks like this:

* JC will install the interior by Feb 21 (I'm crossing my fingers rght now)

* the twin 200 Verados a little thereafter. Those Verados are the 4cyl variety.

that is not enough power to be MPG friendly on that boat..that hull needs a little more torque to get up and going without having to KILL the motors to do it.....quit messing around and at the very least go with a pair of 250 verados.....

if in fact you are going to take that long trip the smaller 200s will take a beating doing so on that boat....especially if you get in rough water an underpowered boat will be a nightmare.....My.02....

George is right..... you have to go bigger or it will be counter productive. Spend the xtra $$$ and get the 6cyl engines.

Thanks for your advice. I think I will go for the twin 300 Verados. I think you're right about the 200's. I know I am in good company here at OSO.

...so two of these then :)

they are definetly the way to go for all out O/B performance but for this boats pupose the right way to go is a production fishboat style motor that has LONGEVITY written all over it with a good amount of Torque and enough HP to let the boat cruise at a reasonable GPH as well as have enough OOOMMMPPHH to hurdle the big azz 34 of the top of large rollers if the need should arise.....

i would love to see how it would run with a pair of 350s for sure.....

Be a sweet setup for sure, but it wont matter how much HP those motors make, one with Bbc's will handle the snot better.

i wouldnt doubt that the boat would get better MPG as well with THE RIGHT set of I/Os........i would say a pair of 6.2 MPIs would be my choice if i was gonna run this thing around the world....not a ton more weight but it would be lower in the boat and a bit more forward so the ride would be better and they are dead reliable.....plus i would set them up so i wouldnt have to change the width of the drives to swap over to 496s or 525s once the round the world trip was over....
