have you had much HP boating experience??? most people that step up to a cat have owned and operated for a signifigant amount of time a 90+ MPH V bottom......you really need to think long and hard about the switch to a 120+ MPH CAT without some signifigatnt experience behing the wheel of a fast V bottom......schools are great but there is NOTHING like experience when it comes to REALLY KNOWING HOW TO DRIVE.......

we all have the speed itch but we all do it in steps and slowly graduate in about 10mph increments......trust me when i say that a 90mph 34ft V and a 120+MPH 32ft cat is a huge diference in handling....

you should finish the 34 and run it for a year or 2 and once you have MASTERED it then graduate to a faster smaller CAT....

My Opinion having Rigged, Piloted, worked on and owned both types of boats....

Noli, like I said in another post, call your insurance guy and ask him how hard it would be to insure a 110+ mph cat with no previous experience, it really tripped up a buddy of mine for a while

Noli, heres the link to Tres Martin's performance School. But you still need some previous High Performance boating experience. As George said. A few years doing 90 in a V. It makes no sence to me, or anyone else reading this thread , why you would have a custom boat built to go around the world. Have it rigged, then sell it before you even used it. Taking a financial loss on the hull in the process.
Whatever happened to going across the Atlantic? Alittle scarey?

Believe me you will NOT get insurance if you have no cat experience or any fast Vee experience.

Insurance can be a big problem with the cats,I use to sell the spectre cats and the insurance costs really hurt the sales, back in 2001-2003 tou could insure a36 spectre for around 3500-4000 a year,a couple years later we were lucky to get a quote for under 10k,thats for a boat thats worth around 200k,need to check into and make sure you can deal with it,The 34 superboat would be a great hull to get your feet wet driving a hp boat if it is your first hp boat,a lot more forgiving and safer for learning, the cats are great and a lot of fun but not a good beginer boat

Rick,

Thanks for the link.

The reason why I'm selling the 34 is because of an article I read in the December issue of Powerboat magazine, pages 20 & 21.

I lost interest in the challenge because the route that they took is the same route I was planning. But read the article. It will surprise you!

Ohhh and yes I'm afraid of oceans, and respect her at the same time. That's why I keep returning to her.
