Its a Sport deck 16'. Haven't made them in years. How much did you get it for?

I didn't pay a whole lot for it. I'm not planning to restore it, just tighten it up a bit, add power (any suggestions?) and have some fun with it out here in the local waters of mid-Suffolk. I would like to sell it to someone who will make it beautiful again, after I've had my turn.

Default How to power?

I'm trying to decide how to power this little boat. Should I go with a smaller engine 300 pound (115-135) engine or put a bigger (380 pound) V6 (150-200) on it? I've got a 4 inch setback jack plate which I can use or abandon. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Default 16 Superboat

The boat was for sale for about 3 years, it had a 115 merc in line on it. I offered him $700 last year and he said he wanted $900 for it with out motor.

I picked up a 115 Yammie for it. Anybody think that's underpowered? If so I'll reconsider. Thanks all.

I would quess very miod to high 50's mph with a 115 if you get a jack plate and a chopper prop a few more MPH. Best of luck. I had my eye on the boat for 3 years, but I had a firm price of $700 he came as low as $900 during the winter for the boat you bought. 3 years ago he was asking 1900, then $1200 2 years ago and it sat and sat.
